Do you not think though, if you see a deal that doesn’t make any sense to the football public in general, that it is in some unknowable way actually bent? Take the Boumsong deals, from Rangers > NUFC on a free > recently relegated for corruption Juventus.. the media won’t blow the lid off it but they’re very likely to know what’s going on…

That sort of activity is demonstrable as to why PSR is a flawed concept. You've got hooky business deals going on all over the place just to satisfy some bullshit framework. The whole Anderson / Vlachodimos thing last summer reeked and then you've got Chelsea signing players on 8 year contracts / selling their women's team / etc.

There's always been questionable transfers in the past mind you - Clive Allen / Kenny Sansom at Palace / Arsenal and even Mick Harford coming to us early 80s were all a bit odd.

Cunha on the verge of joining Man United for £62.5m

Be interested to see if this gets over the line if they fuck up on Wednesday night.

Think Cunha is one of those players who will be heavily influenced by the atmosphere around him.

If he came here I think he would flourish under Eddie with the proper management.

If he goes to Salford Red the number of cunts there will encourage more petulant behaviour and Anthony like performances aka £62m down the drain again

£62m is actually a decent price for Man U when you look at their recent transfer history so for that reason alone expect Wolves to slap on an extra £20m to the asking price

it’s his release clause.

Ah, that makes sense then. He’s clearly worth a punt at that price and will have plenty of suitors. It’d be quite a weird decision to pick Man U if they lose the Europa league final and miss out on CL

It isn’t £62m though afaia. That’s the release clause if the fee is paid up front but Man U want to sign him on tick.

Delap probably going there as well. Not sure those players are really making good career decisions.

He'd be absolutely fucking mental to make that move, so many clubs are after him that are better prospects.

They've ruined everyone they've signed in the last five or six apart from Fernandes.

He'd be better off coming to us to compete with Isak than going and being first choice there ffs

Agreed - there's so many teams in far better positions looking for someone in that role - us, Forest, Arsenal, Chelsea, Villa.

Players can sign but not change registration until the window opens.

Where have you been for the last...when did transfer windows come in?

Before that. Clubs used to sign players months before the season finished and loan then back to the club they'd bought them from. Alan Smith did that with Leicester/Arsenal and we did it with John Robertson who stayed with Hearts for another 6 months.

In the good old days when we had one transfer deadline day .... in March.

It is a bit odd in a way though. Imagine Chelsea go in to sign Elanga from Forest and the deal gets wrapped up in the past few weeks. Is the player going to be able to play properly knowing that if he helps Forest win, he won't play CL football next year? I appreciate that they could just drop him, but it's still a bit weird as a scenario.

I specifically didn't use Isak as an example because the same thought occurred to me  That said, I doubt anyone on the Arsenal side would have been able to keep that quiet if it were true.

Cunha to Manchester United makes absolute sense to me.

He's exactly the kind of player that Manchester United chase; looks flashy, has some renown, ego the size of Brazil.

He doesn't solve their problems whatsoever. They need a reliable striker, physicality and control in midfield, quality at fullback, pace and quality at CB and reliability in goal. What they don't need is a mercurial creativity. They have that from Garnacho, Fernandez, Amad?

He'll sign for them, play well for a bit, then become increasingly peripheral until he's farmed out on loan to Betis or wherever.

Yup, this is a quintessential Manchester United signing.

I would be gutted if they took this guy off their roster mind  I swear they only keep him around for comic relief.
