Apparently he was, at one time, in a psychedelic prog rock band with Vangelis (of Bladerunner soundtrack fame). And they did a concept album based on the Book of Revelation.

Demis Roussos I mean, not Elanga.

Aphrodite's Child.. I imagine the middle aged Toonpack loved these :D

Even I wasn't middle aged in 1972.

Yes and Pink Floyd for me prog-wise around that time. Never heard of Aphrodite's child.

Mention of Pink Floyd and 1972 reminds me of the worst fucking pub quiz wipeout question I was subjected to:

"Which band, in 1972, released the album 'Dark Side of the Moon'?"

No, it was Pink Floyd and it was actually released in 1973. :cuppa:

Yeah I fell into that trap too!

'Medicine Head' released 'Dark Side of the Moon' in 1972, 12 months before Pink Floyd released 'The Dark Side of the Moon'.

And yes, I did call the quiz master a cunt!

Sign him up. Elanga I mean, and Demis Roussos. Dig him up first.

Fun fact: I was at the Herodion at the foot of the Acropolis for his performance in 2010. His first in Greece for 37 years according to Google. And by at I mean wandering around outside like a tourist on their first night in Athens.

A mere 8 months before the big sweaty Mitch

Aye, exactly. During the halcyon days of Dan Ashworth. Back when people had transfers to talk about in the transfer thread.

It's depressing reading posts from pensioners talking about the music of their youth tbh.

its the transfer thread.

you've got to fill the void with something.

for example, this '73 glamrock masterpiece...

I remember going to see slade in flame at the cinema hoping to see a lady's naked boobie.

in fact, most early 70s visits to the cinema were with that in mind, it's probably the only reason I bothered with james bond movies.

jaws was canny for the for couple of minutes where the lass went skinny dipping but then went rapidly down hill once she'd been eaten.

first time I can remember going to the cinema without seeing a boobie being the priority was probably for close encounters of the third kind.
