How the chuff can Forest spend £160m+ on two transfer windows in one season. They're newly promoted and don't have a shirt sponsor. Are they using their promotion money? In previous seasons they have a net spend of; 21/22 -£6.12m 20/21 +£0.61m 19/20 +9.75m This healthy income must help towards it. But to the tune of what they're spending? So signing £160m of players over an average of a four year contract means that the cost towards FFP is only £40m per season. Obviously there will also be a massive increase in wages but at the same time their revenue from just being in the PL will be massively increased. Generally I assume they’ll have well paid and smart accounts (i.e. not Gemmill) looking at these things but if you look at the likes of Everton you can see that sometimes owners just take a gamble and it can really hurt them in the long term.
