You forget how big a part he played in the midfield that season when we stopped up. Him, Willock, and Joelinton with some proper coaching from Howe and his team.

Pretty sure he was one of the players Eddie was saying, 'standing still is no good' to? One of the players that definitely benefitted from his coaching after drifting when Rafa left and the fraud took over.

His free kick winner away to Leeds (and that result/match in general) was a real turning point.

Yes and he admits the goalkeeper practically chucked in the net it was so badly scuffed. :)

It's been inevitable for a while now - we've got one of the longest standing crests in footballl and brand doesn't stay the same forever.

The modern take on the first badge round badge gets my vote:

Given we are chucking out new clothing with this badge stitched on, surely the new crest just needs to revert to this?

I like that we're trying to get the best young talent to the club, but at a fundamental level, I think the current EPPP rule is fucking the smaller clubs and fucking them hard.

Absolutely agree.  Wasn't it brought in by PL too?

Hasn't some clubs actually stopped academies because of it?  A mate of mine coaches nippers and I am sure he told me that.

Its the old myth of 'trickle' down effect init?

The PL increased their central funding to lower league clubs to cover the costs of the Cat 2 and 3 academies, and subsequent achievements are compensated as well. So the argument is that the lower league clubs get reliable, consistent central funding and any high achieving players provide occasional top ups from sell-on clauses, or get International appearances or whatever.

I know Brentford had closed their academy, dunno if it's re-opened or not.

I think FIFA have a more punishing arrangement. Some agreement that the original club gets a set % of each transfer?

"Eddie, ah can only apologise on behalf of us PROPER journalists about this Frank Chippa lad, yeah it's a laugh and that but he's now starting to cross lines. Bottom line, Ed, he ISN'T a journalist, he hasn't put the hard yards in covering NUFC and I doubt he's put the hard yards travelling up and down the country as a punter having stare out stand offs at teenage Boro fans at service stations as a teenage Newcastle fan himself."

"Sorry, I didn't quite catch all that, are you Frank Chippa?"

"No Eddie, it's me, Lee! Lee Ryder of the Newcastle evening chronicle, I'm here every week, surely you remember me? Ah, you're just kidding iz, aren't you? Doing a 'Frank' yourself! Lol. Good one Eddie, like it, mate."

Lee Marshall: "Sorry, We need to move on a bit, can we keep it to simple questions? Next question Luke, George and then Simon."

There's a clip on some Instagram account called risingballers (I know) of an U16 centre half that we've got on our books called Lesecond Yeutembip, who looks like the next Pele.

Mind, whese keyse Louise's question to Lee Marshall.... Her questions are a joke most weeks, this week she only gets one shot at a question to Howe so she thinks of a bizarre one and asks Marshall instead, a question she could easily ask to Marshall himself before or after the MANAGER'S press conference. Do the Guardian not keep tabs on their journalists per se or is it they just don't give a fuck about the NE? (Unless it's a chance of a NUFC dig?)

Pope has sgreed/signed his option for another year, so he's here until summer '27.

Good as we'd possibly be shopping for two keepers in the summer otherwise.

Quite an interesting watch. The arrival of the "personal seat licence", which is basically the amount you have to pay to give you the opportunity to buy your season ticket. Like how the membership gives you the opportunity to enter a ballot to buy a ticket.

With the number of American owners in the PL now, you have to worry this is where we'll end up.

The team in the video is moving stadium, and the cost quoted to existing ticket holders is $5k for the PSL, and $4k for the season ticket for a total cost of $9k. It was $2k for your season ticket in the old stadium.

It's basically the billionaire owner forcing the fans to pay for the new stadium while his wealth rises to $7.6bn. What a cunt.

And btw, more than half the cost of the stadium has already been paid for by the taxpayers. The greed of these billionaires is unreal.
