ewerk 39139
Tonali would be the obvious answer but then again he basically had a year of training with Eddie before we saw him get a proper run in the side.
strawb 5407
Agree with Wykiki and the video tbh. The players we have bought have risen the floor of the squad, but nobody since Tonali has raised the ceiling. The floor needed raising, we had some lads who despite great effort were Rafa signings (still do tbh). We would do with a statement signing, like Tonali. It would give everyone a boost. I would go for a technical left footed right winger, like Soule from Roma. Something different from what we have.
Christmas Tree 6688
Maybe not for Man City, but I wonder how this set up would do. Gordon and Woltemade being able to interchange, but Gordon also there to be a more mobile presser. An overall midfield with better holders and passers of the ball and Hall and Tino providing the pace and width down the flanks. Allows Nick to play more with his back to goal and linking up forward play and Gordon able to stretch the defence giving more room for the midfield to work in. (At least until Wissa has a go) Sure we’d be missing our current selection of misfiring wingers, but retaining possession and runs from Hall / Tino may prove a better way forward. Hear me out lads, how about we only have one winger in the starting eleven, played out of position obviously. We’ll remedy that by playing four centre mids - two of which will play on the wing. Aye, I can’t see any problem with it at all tbh.
Dazzler 16113
That’s the kind of out the box thinking that Pardew would be proud of. Would need more left backs though.
