I don’t think I’ve actually clicked on any if the links before but that 247sportslife site is often link to with what appears to be absolute shite stories (going off the headlines) from fan pages / accounts are n social media. Wouldn’t surprise me if G-Dogg is correct and it was generated by AI. As for the motivation behind making it up? It’s not that bizarre if you come at it from the pov is that it’s just to drive engagement. And it’s the sort of feel good story that people like to read about. So quite clever in that regard. It being the sole source (seemingly) also suggests it’s a load of bollocks

Aye, a good chunk of it seems to be based on detectors, though I can't say for sure how reliable they are.

I think we might need to have a think about how much AI content we're ok with showing up on here tbh, aside from my other objections to it (environmental, theft etc.) most of its just absolute garbage.

I really don't want here to get as flushed with AI shite as the rest of the internet seems to be doing.
