Holden McGroin 9903
Loving that statement. The club is bigger than you ALEXANDER.
Rayvin 8362
He strikes me as a pretty impulsive guy but I'm staggered by the idea that he just went and did all this without talking to Howe. Surely if he had done, something useful could have been achieved here. I wonder if having him back with his 'family' at the club might soften the situation somewhat though, get him back into Howe's hands again since Eddie is clearly the only person at the club who has the first clue how to manage anyone.

Would definitely put a positive spin on the summer window. I reckon if you offered Eddie... Elanga, Sesko, Wissa, Ramsdale, Elliott & say Guehi for the loss of Longstaff and Isak, I think he'd have taken it. He definitely would now. After Isak is returning Howe decides to show the world what a fabulous set of testicles he has . Embarrassing !!!

Howe is the complete opposite to showing off. This is very much showing that there is a chance that Isak can working earn his way back. Seems a bit of a pointless thing to say if he is set to go. Rayvin 8362
I'm assuming Gurru is a Liverpool fan from the interactions so far? - if so then he's probably doesn't actually follow the club closely enough to understand why we would all believe Howe in this. Not a Liverpool fan but not a Newcastle fan either !! I understand why you believe in Howe but that statement reeks of posturing !! Is he really saying that Isak will be lucky to make it back on the team ?? Howe isn't putting one of the top 5 CF's in the world into the reserve team. Howe isn't putting one of the top 5 CF's in the world into the reserve team. He can't just let him swan back into the team after all this - but that said, I do think that he will make every effort to resolve the situation to a satisfactory level or ultimately just bin the guy off and accept the sale. But I don't think there's really a scenario where he just bends over and lets Isak do what he wants. For one thing we've actively recruited players on the basis of their professionalism and attempted to avoid Ronaldo style personalities. If he abandons that here he loses credibility with the rest of the team. Man management does matter in the end, and while Isak might well be a great player, he's not worth unsettling the rest of the team. They need to believe in and respect Howe's authority, ultimately.
Rayvin 8362
The other thing that I suspect many fans of other clubs won't believe but for me at least is true - Howe is a bigger deal to this club than Isak, at the very least from the takeover until now. The latter going would be disappointing, the former going would be a catastrophe. As good as Isak might be, he's not worth more than Howe.

I agree !! He has to make that statement to show the footballing world that Newcastle cannot be pushed around by a player but we all know that Isak will work hard in training & regain the trust of his teammates & be accepted back .

Ah sorry, I see your point now - yes, I also expect this will happen. But then I think that's what Howe is saying too, no? Isak is a solid professional and for all that has been made of this, I do believe that they'll find a way to repair it if we aren't selling him. So yes, fair.

Andrew 7478
Something about Howe that those watching less closely than us won't appreciate is that no player we've signed apart from I think Trippier has just dropped straight into the first team, including Isak, Gordon, even Bruno when we were fighting to stay up. You have to prove you're up to the task before he'll pick you. If Isak stays he has still not had a preseason with us, he won't play until hes reintegrated into team training and has shown that hes ready to play for Howe.
Duffman 189
I blame Mitchell for all of this. How are you telling the world best number 9 back in February there will be zero talks of a new deal when he has seen you give fresh deals to other players. Probably could have gotten him to extend on far less than the reported 300k Liverpool are offering. Dont know what Gemmil saw in Mitch.
Kitman 2869
48 minutes ago, Duffman said: I blame Mitchell for all of this. That cunt is absolutely to blame. He was either completely incompetent or he fully intended Isak to leave so he could reshape the squad with his players. Either way it's his fault, if we'd sorted out a new contract, Liverpool wouldnt have been able to turn Isak's head. It's no surprise Mitchell fucked off early when he realised he'd created a massive car crash and no-one was going to support him over Howe.
Gemmill 63200
Fwiw, one of the Geordie Journos reckons he contacted the Slovenian bloke who wrote the story that Sesko has decided on us, and the lad is absolutely adamant that his story is accurate. It's certainly not nothing that the very next morning we submitted our bid.

By all accounts that Slovenian paper isn't a sports focussed paper and doesn't usually get involved in speculative stuff, so hopefully ............. Also, last 24 hours hasn't it gone VERY quiet, was almost hourly bait being chucked around previously. Fingers crossed.
