Just because I'm not sure if you've posted here enough to know, it's a forum in joke to call people cunts. It's not meant aggressively, it's actually closer to acceptance. At least that's what I tell myself

No, it means you are just a cunt tbh.

If Isak thinks he’s too good for us, or that without him we’ll be lost, he’s got another thing coming. We’ve survived the shambles of the Joe Kinnear days and the lifeless football under Steve Bruce. One player’s inflated ego isn’t going to break us. What really stings is not just him leaving, but the unprofessional way he’s handled it. And while he’s chasing the “bright lights,” our transfer window is turning into a feeding ground for our rivals. The timing, the attitude, it’s a slap in the face to the fans who backed him from day one.

Yes the player usually wins, but the wildcard in all of the this is Yassir/PIF and the arab mentality and their appetite for allowing it to appear that the player has won.

Am not so sure that's a given.

I think it's pretty much a negotiating position designed to make LFC grovel and extort as much money as they can from them. Think it all depends if a replacement is being actively pursued. That deal won't happen till we've played them though... I think youre right in a way, Liverpool probably do have the power to take him from us but the Saudi's will make sure if it happens the terms will be very favorable to them...

 one of the stupidest cities and fan bases.

They appear to have convinced themselves that because Mitchell completely fucked up Isak's new contract talks that has entitled Isak to behave as he's done and he should be perfectly entitled to leave. One has suggested that this is even more acceptable because Anthony Gordon got a new contract last season and we should've been looking for an Isak replacement all summer, conveniently forgetting that they took Etikike so we had to look elsewhere. I think the optics of that part of the  debacle have been incredibly damaging for us and can only conclude it was deliberate and designed to do so...

There's no question the Ekitike thing was a massive reputational blow. And they probably knew or had a good idea that we were trying to sign him so that Isak could leave, and went ahead and signed him out from under us anyway.

It's when I'm reminded of stuff like that that I just think fuck it, make him train by himself for the next 10 months because the alternative is just giving in to him and the tramps.

They'd probably just have Isak by now if they hadn't come in on Ekitike, but its the way of the big clubs in the premier league, just hoard talent and whine when you aren't invited to take advantage of "lesser" clubs.

We need to absolutely rinse them this summer or invite a bidding war next between the handful of big european clubs who will be looking for a striker.

The ball is essentially in their court, we've been fairly clear on his price from the outset and instead of paying they've unsettled the player and paid about a billion "journalists" to brief constantly about it, this whole "wont come in unless newcastle open the doors" scthick is beyond pathetic.

I truly truly hope we never act like this as a club, just pay the money, negotiate in good faith or fuck off.

It's worse than that imo. It feels like they're making us grovel. When you're ready for us to take your best player, all you need to do is ask.

Get fucked, you tramps.

I think Isak is probably intelligent enough to realise he’s been fucked over by Liverpool too. But he’s acted in a way that makes it difficult to have any sort of future here too so he seems to be doubling down and hoping we crack. Which I can’t really see happening without an improved bid and a replacement lined up
