Craig 12325
57 minutes ago, Gemmill said: I sort of don't understand the idea we could get a commitment from him this week. Why blink now when he's already done the unthinkable? The more I think about this, the more I agree with it. What is in it for him to provide commitment this side of the transfer window closing? Absolutely nothing, so it won't happen. Ergo, why after all this time since we rejected their previous bid would we as a club make clear to Liverpool that we'd be willing to listen to offers for him? If we were going to take that approach we'd have done it weeks ago. This a stalemate that's going to run all the way until 19:00 on Monday. Anything reported between now and then is almost certainly going to be click-bait nonsense.

Kid Dynamite 9298
We are ending up with Larsen and Wissa for £100m aren't we... We're not buying two Wilson replacements and letting Isak go.
Gemmill 62983
If the price is £60m for both, then Larsen is the more sensible option based on age alone.
Rayvin 8303
Yeah but does that then mean we play the season with just one striker. It's a weird moment because I fully don't understand how we can let Isak go here, but at the same time it feels like everything is pulling towards him leaving. The general consensus outside of our micro-climate is he's the better natural replacement for Wilson as well. Wissa is considered a winger who is able to play through the middle, but it's not his natural position. There's a lot of focus on him because of the numbers he scored last season. What might happen is if we get Strand Larsen for £60m and our urgency for a striker rescinds, Brentford might be more willing to accept a reasonable fee for Wissa - say £30m. I just don't see us spunking the thick end of £100m on these two. We'll sign one, make Isak stay, and try and get a tune out of him til Jan/the summer, and then get rid of the prick.
MrBass 4182
We'd look fucking stupid if we let that scrawny prick leave now. Even more so if he hasn't put in a transfer request.

trooper 1058
I read somewhere about Eddie wanting Isak to be ready for Leeds. If he's not are we at this stage now. footballer players can be fined for not playing or for refusing to play, as refusing to play is often a breach of contract. The maximum fine for a breach of contract like this in the Premier League is typically two weeks' wages, though fines can escalate with subsequent offences or if the PFA agrees to a larger penalty
Craig 12325
From Liverpool's POV surely strengthening their defence is their priority? Goals win games but defences win leagues. If they focus on getting Isak I reckon they'll forfeit retaining the title.

acrossthepond 1176
They were horrendous in defence last night, if we'd had a striker we could've had 5. I know Szo-whateverthefascistHungarianfuck is not a defender but his fashy compatriot Kerkez is, purportedly, and he was FUCKING AWFUL. Whatever he was doing for Bruno's header only he will know, only I don't think he actually does. They've well and truly replaced Trent there, another defender who only knows how to get forward. Konate was crap as well. The amazing world-class Van Dijk looked three years too old as well as looking like an aged lesbian. Atrocious.
wykikitoon 28482
Dipper mate said they need to sort the defence out. I thought Ekiteke last two games when he's comes off they lose all shape. He was superb last night but he was a threat and scored

If I'm feeling very generous, they were unlucky for a few years with Klopp as Pep and Man City dominated. I feel the Premier league winner this year could be relatively shite. But for Judas, could have been our year imo.
