Fine they he stays on the say pay as he's getting right now.

Truly is cutting off his nose to spite his face. He ain't getting what he wants but the cunt is too stubborn to back down.

Regardless, he’s never going to back down at this late stage. He probably saw the negotiation as an indication that he can still leave. They should have started it with, “right you greedy cunt, whatever happens you’re not going to Liverpool this window….”

Neither side are backing down on this. It'll run until 7pm next Monday. Thank fuck the window shuts at a reasonable time tbh.

Honestly think Isak’s total insistence is half his agent and half him realising that he needs to get out of the city of Newcastle sharpish. It’s completely untenable and I’m not even sure both parties will end up with a positive outcome out of this

His agent will make a fortune out of a move. Isak will make a fortune out of a move.

Feels like by the time we pay Sociedad a percentage, pay off the amortised fee and pay Isak his loyalty bonus, our club record transfer will just about cover the bid for Strand Larsen. So much for it being "transformational" for the club like the Coutinho and Grealish sales.

This is exactly why I wouldn't bother to sell him and insist that he plays. We spend 60m either way on the Wilson back up. If we get to next summer and he's £30m cheaper as a result, at least we got a fucking season out of him - plus I think both his loyalty and book value would be lower by then. Selling him now makes no sense at all unless Liverpool pay astronomical numbers.

Were there any anti-Isak chants in the ground last night? I watched in the boozer and couldn’t really hear

Nah, didn’t hear any at all.

If there was then you’d be sure Sky would be highlighting it.

I hope the club is ready to push the nuke button come next week given how Isak has acted.

Fines plus banned from training until he issues an apology and signs an extension, let him rot otherwise. He will destroy his world cup chances. It will hurt us in the short run of course but a precedent needs to be set now for the likes of Isak and Liverpool.

Does this mean we have given Liverpool a clear signal to proceed then? Surely that's the only circumstance under which they'd bid, they did say so after all...

'readying'

How long does it take to ‘ready’ and submit a bid? I mean it’s now 25 days since the last miserly bid.

We should know we seem to be experts at it.

Think they may blink at that

It still doesn’t solve the problem of us having no strikers.

One thing the Saudis will not accept is the appearance of being bullied. That is an affront to them. That’s why I can’t see the transfer happening.

I hope you're right.
