So that new music toy I bought the other day, I create a notebook, upload the user manual, and then give it the links to a load of YouTube videos and forum posts about how it works/tips and tricks etc. It consumes all of this in seconds, and now I can just ask it questions about things I don't know how to do, and it gives me an answer and cites its source. The AI companies intend to monitor this by using the stupider AI systems to tell them when this happens, in order to keep the smarter ones in check. That sounds like a fantasy to me, but there we go. As a final note, the AIs committed to these self preservation decisions even if they were told to 'permit themselves to be shutdown' as part of the code for their operation.
