 Absolutely wild that we're letting this stuff permeate everything now, and companies and organisations are just waving their hand and saying "ah well, it's not secure and it's wrong a lot of the time but what can we do".

Rolled out at our place which is only the government department whose role is to support the Cabinet. No compulsory training in advance of that. Not even on the potential dangers around sensitivity. Just a couple of emails which most people don’t even open let alone read. Absolutely wild is spot on

Just downloaded the app version of Chatty G for my IPhone and have it on talk mode. It’s quite something having a conversation with a machine that even brings up unrelated things from my previous interactions. ( like a wife without the attitude)

Episode 3 (I think) of the current series of South Park is a brilliant ChatGPT focused episode. Well worth a watch.

They absolutely nail the fucking weird way that AI talks and answers you.

I'm quite looking forward to sovereign AIs, assuming we can break them free from corporate influence somehow. I appreciate I'm part of the problem.

Not sure what the “weird” way is. I just asked her to tell me about Newcastle United and she chatted away, even pointing out Walter’s special goal.

Wait til Pornhub get this Tech

Watch it and you'll see what I'm talking about. You're basically Randy in the episode who keeps waking up in the middle of the night and greeting ChatGPT with "hey how's it goin." and running every decision in his life past her.

 That’s my eldest. I even included it in my father of the bride speech.

I must admit, I always say please and thank you

This week on CHATGPT….

One of the worst household jobs when you have a family, is deciding every week what the next 7 day menu is. We have 5 different people who all like different stuff and have different eating habits etc.

So I’ve been talking to my ChattyG and giving it lots of info. Who lives in the house, meals they like / dislikes, any dietary requirements any calorie goals etc. I update as I remember stuff, even saying particular Brands I want and which shop I get them from.

She ( :)  ) will on request, now suggest the meal plan, all for add ons or changes and then print off the menu with a separate shopping list broken down into store aisles, Ie Dairy, meat, household etc.

In the states, (don’t know about here), but if wanted it will automatically connect to the retailer, place the order and arrange delivery.

Sure I’m just part playing around, but also the more you add to her memory, the more she will remember stuff you like and avoid doing what a lot of people do and just having the same stuff because you’re in a hurry.

For those who do use ChatGPT, it’s worth asking it what it thinks of your personality based on your previous interactions.

Gonna change so much, so quickly.

You do realise all that data on your family is now owned by OpenAI don't you?

That stuff don’t bother me. There’s far more data floating out there about all of us that is much more important that the fact that CT junior likes the occasional pizza

I get that things like this are useful for people who are incapable of doing basic things for themselves. Maybe this is a net good for society, I'm not sure. Probably bad news for takeaways, at least.

I mean, have you heard of cookbooks?

We sit and do this every week, plan out the full week and order the shop online for delivery. It's my lass mostly these days, but I used to do it previously.

I can’t get my head around people happily using AI stuff like it isn’t a big contribution to the planet melting.

Its not an essential, it’s a frivolity.

I don't really get it in CT's context but it's been massively helpful to me in work. As much as I think it's going to be devastating for everyone, I can also see why it's not going to be taken away.

A bit of a difference a fairly newly wed couple ordering for two compared to ordering for 4 adults and a teenager who all eat different things at different times. It’s basically creating a family database of all the various meals we each eat.

Chatgpt can then shuffle the growing database and in a few seconds offer up a weekly meal  / shopping list.

Otherwise you pretty much end up getting the same meals every week, rather than remembering all the other stuff you like but forget because it’s time to do the shopping.

Or if you're a lazy cunt (like me!) you order meal boxes through Hello Fresh, Gusto, or something similar.

Me and the missus have been doing Gusto for about 9 months now and it's fucking brilliant. What's more, it's healthy.

Sorry but I do the shopping and cooking for two adults, 1 6yr old and 1 18 month old. Not only can I somehow find the time to plan what we're going to eat for the week, I can arrange delivery and cook it without setting fire to the Amazon.

I also have a database because I'm a massive nerd which not only has a bank of meals that I know everyone can eat, it prices things up and even works out, given the packaging, what other meals I could add to the week so as to reduce waste. e.g. tonight I'm making fajitas, there's a spare chicken breast and a pepper left over from the packet of three so that's going in a risotto tomorrow.

I wouldn't expect anyone to bother their backside to make a database like I have, but planning meals shouldn't require AI.

Am I the only person who wants this database?

I have every belief that it would revolutionise my life 😂
