It was pleasing to see Miley get a full 90 minutes today.  I think we do need to keep our feet on the ground with him though.

He is still extremely green to some extents and I think this is the season where hopefully he gets more minutes.  That season he broke through was down to injuries and he did a great job. Last season injuries messed his season up a bit, but also with the midfield being so strong and no European football, Eddie didn't rotate as much.  I hope Eddie does now.

He seems to be playing it much safer than when he broke into the side. I don’t know if this has been coached into him but he played with much more freedom a couple of years back. He seemed to want to turn and pass back most times he got the ball today. Perhaps he’s worried about making a mistake. I wonder if a loan spell would have been good for him this season. It was the making of Eliot Anderson.

A loan spell for Miley would have left us with Willock as our only for backup option in CM tbf

yeah, the reason we haven’t is we don’t have enough players to afford that luxury. I think it could have been better for his development though. Kid is only 19

Interesting point from his interview, he mentioned twice "just trying to run/get into the box" and it's not before time that our midfielders do that, big Joe sometimes tries but Sandro and Bruno tend to hover outside when in the final third.

Miley has the size to cause defenders big problems and in particular with Woltemade playing more as a 10 we need the extra bodies coming into that space.

Endearing isn't he. Innocent smile but the boy can play. Excels in tight spaces and looked very quick against their quick wingers. Very impressive tonight

Aye, his top speed when running back in cover was a surprise. Those long legs can move when they have to.

I was concerned for him early on in the first half - seemed like a fish out of water a couple of times at RB, but he grew massively into the game and proved those concerns unfounded.

He's elite. Already. But I don't think we have seen him in full flow yet. Genuinely feel that there is a league dominating player in there, but I'm not certain if Miley will reach that level. Hope he does. We'll be set for the next decade.

i liked how he was notionally playing right back but was in his usual central midfield position whenever we had the ball. tino was doing the same from LB, to lesser effect. miley was a lot more cultured on the ball.

other positives - i didn't think he was the quickest but he tracked his full back well yesterday and rarely got done for pace. he's also strong on for such a young lad and used his physicality well to bully some of their players off the ball. he looks good cover at right back.

only negative on a superb performance was trying to overplay it from the back in a tight position on the odd occasion, which could have got us in trouble, where he might have been better off putting his laces through it. but that's stuff he'll learn with experience.
