Beat Brighton, Chelsea hopefully get beaten by Liverpool then even a draw against Chelsea the week after gives us a great chance going into the two last games where Chelsea aren't going to overtake us. Just did one of those predictors and I had us finishing fourth and that was drawing with Chelsea and losing to Arsenal. It's so hard to gauge what will happen because there's so many permeations so that's why I'd love to get the points on board asap. Get six points in the next two and we'd be laughing.

Agree with this but I think it’s a point at Brighton and then hopefully giving the rent boys a fuckin doing they’ll never forget 🤜🏻

I think Tindall just slightly touched the fourth official at the arm who took offence to it. It was a minimal contact but looked like a total overreaction to me when it happened and I wasn’t surprised when Tindall got a booking.

I saw the same incident you're talking about. Tindall touched the bloke's arm in a perfectly normal human "I'm just making sure I've got your attention" gesture, and this little Metro Inspector/Traffic Warden looked down at Tindall's hand on his arm, and back up at Tindall's face with this "you don't SERIOUSLY have your hand on me, do you?!" pantomime act.

I mean just fuck off mate.

How dare you even consider mocking another man’s predictions

Well I think you predicted about 9 points ago that we wouldn't pick up another point this season, and the latest mathematical nonsense is that we MUST WIN all of our remaining games to make CL.

So you're racking up quite the record yourself.

Fancy us v Brighton tbh, it's got more of the feel of us going into it late in the season last time we beat them down there and I think everyone at NUFC will be fancying putting the record straight against them plus I think they might have a bit of 'on the beach' about them compared to us needing and wanting it more. We usually get them away early on in the season when they're more on it.

Lots of comebacks between the pair of you but ultimately gemmill didn't predict 'Mike' finally getting the hang of this football lark' when we had the one fruitful season under him (in the PL).

Just watching the goals back on the NUFC channel and Raisbeck says something I didn't notice at the time, only 1 minute injury time put up in the first half with some of the shit that went on as we were piling the pressure on for a breakthrough goal. Compare and contrast with certain other clubs.

Its a joke. Their keeper wasted close to a minute the first time they had a goal kick!

There was at least two VAR checks in that first half on top of the sending off.  One minute of added on time was quite frankly ridiculous.  That was honestly one of the least competent refereeing performances I've ever seen (and I'm not even taking the disallowed goal into account as I think pretty much every ref would have made the same decision).  He completely lost control of what should have been the easiest games in the world to referee.

I don’t normally like criticising refs but he was out of his depth on Sat.

The Bruno disallowed goal was a joke (the defender pushed him into the keeper as well), I’m not sure if Burn tripped Ben Johnson and although  Murphy was tugged back there has been numerous incidents recently like this that didn’t get overturned.

Since the introduction of VAR, on-field refereeing has becoming lazy IMO. Far too many examples where an on-field ref has chosen to not make a difficult call in the security that VAR will dig him out if needed.

Evidenced in part by knowing if he's sent to review on a screen, you're practically guaranteed his decision is being overturned. I can only think of one example (Oliver I think) where after reviewing the footage he stuck to his original decision.

It's hard to believe that VAR could actually lower the quality of refereeing but it has.  I'm still sticking with VAR being the worst thing that has happened to football in my lifetime.  It hasn't made any reduction in the amount of controversial decisions, the discussion now is just around whether VAR made a mistake rather than the on field ref, and it's slowing games down to a ridiculous degree.  A lot of the time the supporters don't have any clue why the referee is delaying a restart.  If anything is going to make people fall out of love with football it's VAR.

One of the worst things about VAR is a referee not making a decision on the pitch because he knows VAR will check it, and then VAR deciding there isn't enough to overturn the referee's "decision".

But the referee has explicitly made no decision.

So you end up with them both opting for the "no decision" route and now it's somehow no one's fault that a decision got missed. I

t's fucking idiotic. If the ref isn't sure, he should be able to say "lads I missed that one, could you please review and let me know."
