Fucking hell! First Gazza, then Souness, then Redknaap, then Motson, now Brinsley from aswad and the Liverpool and NUFC transfer strategy team, it's like the Beverley hills of the south coast!

But did you meet anyone from aswad and did they shine? Shine like a star?

Not sure about shining like a star but I think Brinsley got done for giving his Mrs a shiner a few years ago. Honestly, the company Paddocklad keeps, he should be ashamed of himself.

And this fresh from the news that Gemmill’s BFF Tony di Bart is a bit hands on with the ladies.

Board full of wrong’uns.

Soon as I saw that news story I googled Tony Di Bart antivax. I was certain he was gonna be another one whose brain melted during covid. I think it might just have been the immense pressure of being a musical genius though.

So yeah, I'm thinking I win.

Louise Taylor man. Look at this unmitigated shit she's pulled from absolutely nowhere. Amongst other things it includes the notion that Frankfurt are 'tough negotiators' and therefore will look to get a fee higher than Ekitike's release clause. What does she think a release clause actually is? Why would anyone pay above it ffs.

But beyond that she's basically willing Liverpool to sign Isak. I mean we all call her out from time to time but this fucking desperation to look on the negative side of anything concerning us, coupled with her total inability to write in a compelling way makes her easily the worst journo on football coverage in my eyes. Yes I include Ryder in that, it's that bad.

She's an idiot. Most of the questions she asks at press conferences are incomprehensible and irrelevant nonsense. Ryder, for all his faults, at least comes across as authentic and sincerely interested in the club.

Aye this is a hell of an implication for her to make;

Then there’s Howe’s relationship with Richard Hughes. Newcastle’s manager and Liverpool’s sporting director are good friends, stemming from their days together at Bournemouth. Although Liverpool deny making a formal approach for Isak, the fact that intermediaries have subtly made clear that Arne Slot’s board would be prepared to pay about £120m for Howe’s prize possession suggests they have received encouragement, however tacit, from someone, somewhere.

I particularly like the ways she tries to come up with loaded or provocative 'questions' for Howe at pressers which he immediately recognises and shuts down with a friendly  greeting, a typically Howe'esque response and a knowing smile.

She must've learned this fascinating tidbit about Howe's friendship with the Liverpool DoF from her source: PL. Credit to her. She's managed to maintain all of its original charm and immediacy in relaying, fourth-hand, a third-hand, second-rate anecdote. 😜

This is unmitigated horse shit. Why would Howe encourage the sale of his most valuable player? The attempt to draw a dotted line to Howe with zero evidence is pathetic. LFC are plainly trying their luck, imo there's nothing more to it than that.

The more interesting question is why are LFC doing this - do they genuinely believe they have some hope of success - despite every message from the club in the close season being he's not for sale - or are they just trying to unsettle Isak? Of course Taylor has no insight on the real questions because she's a shocking journalist with no connections with either club.

Couldn’t agree more. Not only does she lack connections in the sense of people, she seems incapable of making connections between facts. An idiot stealing a living if ever there was.

It’s a piece fill of speculative nonsense. She clearly has no contacts. I can’t remember her ever breaking a transfer story of note

According to Jan Aage Fjortoft, he would prefer Liverpool over us. If they're in discussions and he comes to us, either he was wrong or he believes in what we do. If he goes to them then I'd say we shouldn't have bothered our arses trying for a 3rd time to convince this lad.

Given the straight choice, any player without a previous affiliation to either club would prefer them. In the last 10 years, they've won:

PL x 2

CL

FA Cup

League Cup x 2

In the last 70 years, we've won one domestic trophy.

We can't be in a huff if players prefer to join a club that has a much better recent record than us.

No but you have to have players who buy into the club. I don't think Liverpool will have it as easy this year because Slot is trying to bring in his own players to prove he hasn't just won the league with Klopps team. Regardless, they'll probably offer higher wages anyway.
