I wouldn't be starting Osula like. We saw enough in pre season to know that he's not ready. We don't need to further put that to the test vs Liverpool.

Really hope Wissa at least is here by then.

I sympathise with Eddie in that we were in control, we had pace and small changes can suddenly mean gaps appear for the opposition, especially for a team who usually beat us when at home. Murphy deserves game time as does Miley.

Tbf Villa normally beat nearly  everyone at home. To not lose and boss them like this is really impressive lMO.,

Agree that I would've liked to see Osula earlier this match once they were reduced to 10.

I don't want him starting next week though. He looked truly terrible in pre-season in those couple of games he started. Also, and very importantly for next week, I don't think Howe trusts him defensively to lead the press. With good reason imo because he seems a bit of a thick player. No offense to the lad, I like him and hope he improves as a goalscorer, but tactics is likely never going to be his strong suit.

Is he a better striker than Gordon in pure terms of goal threat? Maybe. But we need everything to work in a cohesive way without Isak. We can't have someone running around without a clue next week against Liverpool on the odd chance he does something miraculous. That's Bruce-ball mentality for me.

Gordon was impressive today despite the spurned chance off the header. He earned the red, in collaboration with Elanga. They had decent performances. Stick to the gameplan without Isak. Get Wissa in by next weekend. Gordon to go from the start and hopefully we see Wissa on 60 min mark for Barnes.

Agree with that. It’s clear what our priority is going to be over the next 2 weeks

Good performance all around, especially the two CBs. It just seemed to be one of those days that you know we wouldn’t score.

i would have put my house on Barnes scoring that chance on 87 mins.

Went over for a quick mackem take on it. Just the usual drivel about villa being shit, ref's in oir pocket, we're both finishing mid table etc. Well, you're back in the big time marras, let's see how you find it.

what are the odds these average teams will take 12 points off the SMBs?

We have two guaranteed cup finals this year. So do every other Premier League team, apparently.

That’ll be five, when you include the actual cup finals…

That’s where I’m at. We would have won if he’d played today. He can get fucked

I was just about to type that. 😆

Plus, it wasn’t contradictory. To dumb it down I was just suggesting it wasn’t going to be our day in front of goal and that summed it up.

I would bring him on in the 60th minute, jumping from the roof top.
