I think you’re being a little unfair here- it’s not the var ref’s fault we didn’t put enough in the bribe. 
 

When you compare the tackle that saw Gordon sent off to, say, the tackle that nearly snapped Bruno’s leg, or, ooooh, the textbook elbow to the head on Tino (I think) that went unpunished, it’s clear that we simply need to up our bribery game and all will be fair.

Quietly going about his business and embodying everything required to be a Newcastle United legend. 

I questioned giving him the captaincy last summer - thought they'd done it as a means to ward off any thoughts of moving away. In retrospect it was yet another masterstroke by Eddie.

Given the embodiment and togetherness of this squad, I wouldn't swap it for any other in the league. You can't put a price on it and others clearly recognise and fear its value given they're doing everything in their power to destabilise us.

BTW, and I know it got mentioned earlier in the match thread, but Sky need to bin off showing this Duke Nukem 3D style ref cam during live broadcast. It's fucking awful and adds nothing for the viewer. 

The only benefit I can see of it is its use in reply to see what view the referee had of a particular incident. There'd be better off investment in rugby-style referee mics but then, given it would expose all the whinging and moaning the likes of van Dijk to, I can't see the cartel allowing that.

Agreed. I'm wondering if he still feels hugely responsible for the previous sending off against Brighton and wanted to get in there early with the fans. 

It wasn't an ideal outcome, but unlike the Brighton game, it was just bad timing rather than the result of petulance.

Haven't seen the footage but a mate was saying Sky showed Carragher tear-arseing round the studio celebrating when they got the winner. It's one thing having a massive Liverpool fan and zero NUFC representation in the studio, it's another thing to think you need to show the "scenes" so everyone can see what a great lad "Carra" is. 

 

When it's him and Neville both covering a Man United v Liverpool game, fine. On every other occasion when there's no representation for the other club in the game, fuck off with that shit.
