Clue: it's what doesn't upset these cunts, their red brethren and their army of client journalists and ex-players who infest the sporting media. I think you’re being a little unfair here- it’s not the var ref’s fault we didn’t put enough in the bribe. When you compare the tackle that saw Gordon sent off to, say, the tackle that nearly snapped Bruno’s leg, or, ooooh, the textbook elbow to the head on Tino (I think) that went unpunished, it’s clear that we simply need to up our bribery game and all will be fair. Maybe change our shirts to more reddish hue?
Gemmill 63116
Bruno's 66th consecutive PL start last night apparently. Which is mental.

Quietly going about his business and embodying everything required to be a Newcastle United legend. I questioned giving him the captaincy last summer - thought they'd done it as a means to ward off any thoughts of moving away. In retrospect it was yet another masterstroke by Eddie. Given the embodiment and togetherness of this squad, I wouldn't swap it for any other in the league. You can't put a price on it and others clearly recognise and fear its value given they're doing everything in their power to destabilise us.
Monkeys Fist 50678
I totally agree with that entirely, other than the first word. This is Bruno we’re talking about

MrBass 4188
Bruno would be more likely to record a teary farewell if/when that happens.
RobElliott 2390
Impressed with Gordon's apology, especially letting everyone know it wasnt intentional given the fact that in a previous match VVD clearly checked him in the face with his shoulder causing him to bleed
Craig 12368
BTW, and I know it got mentioned earlier in the match thread, but Sky need to bin off showing this Duke Nukem 3D style ref cam during live broadcast. It's fucking awful and adds nothing for the viewer. The only benefit I can see of it is its use in reply to see what view the referee had of a particular incident. There'd be better off investment in rugby-style referee mics but then, given it would expose all the whinging and moaning the likes of van Dijk to, I can't see the cartel allowing that.

I'm wondering if he still feels hugely responsible for the previous sending off against Brighton and wanted to get in there early with the fans. It wasn't an ideal outcome, but unlike the Brighton game, it was just bad timing rather than the result of petulance.

Gemmill 63116
They need to keep the mics off the refs or we'd hear them muttering "get in!" when Liverpool or Man United score.

Gemmill 63116
Couldn't see this on telly but Caulkin reckons that no sooner had the match kicked off, Tindall was shushing Liverpool coaches and making yappy-hand gestures towards them.

Tremendous! Our coaching team, and Tindall in particular, are rent free in Slot's head IYAM. I think that's the basis of his 'That wasn't a football match' nonsense. The fucking irony that they make claims we weren't out to play football yet it's 3 of our players carried off the pitch having had lumps kicked out of them. Gemmill 63116
Haven't seen the footage but a mate was saying Sky showed Carragher tear-arseing round the studio celebrating when they got the winner. It's one thing having a massive Liverpool fan and zero NUFC representation in the studio, it's another thing to think you need to show the "scenes" so everyone can see what a great lad "Carra" is. When it's him and Neville both covering a Man United v Liverpool game, fine. On every other occasion when there's no representation for the other club in the game, fuck off with that shit.

Craig 12368
Don't forget this lad grew up as a Blue Dipper and on the day Liverpool fans were being crushed to death at Hillsborough, he was on the terraces at Villa Park watching his beloved Everton beating Norwich to get to the Cup Final. Can you imagine a life-long Newcastle fan who ended up playing for Sunderland celebrating the unwashed scoring a last minute goal live on TV and reacting like that? He's a fucking embarrassment!

I saw this, thought about posting it, and decided that no one would want to see it I don't mind the Death Star FC stuff, that was funny the first couple of times, but the entire thing is just a hit piece with no context or nuance that explains our situation. A vapid, uninformed take on the whole thing.
