My brother in law came off his mountain bike last week and has 4 spinal fractures and 4 broken ribs. It's one of those things I'd wished I'd never seen it's fucking horrendous. Suffice to say there's been a very understandable witch-hunt for him and as others said, it's better for him the authorities get to him before the general public do.
