This is the petition that the MP for Aston (Perry Barr constituency) started to stop Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters attending their match at Villa Park next month. Check out the name of his joint petitioner...

https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/cancel-the-aston-villa-vs-maccabi-tel-aviv-match/

This is his reaction to last night's news that the WM Police advisory board have banned MTA fans from traveling (no response as yet on this from his big brave boy mate)

Not suggesting for a minute this isn't a hugely complex issue, but when our Prime Minister says Jewish people should be safe on the streets of this country then it's no wonder he almost immediately intervened last night. Don't blame the WM police board, risk is assessed on facts and even looking anecdotally at the scenes from Amsterdam last season most would think there should be extra measures put in place to ensure safety for all. The petition remains two thousand short of its intended target of 6k, which represents about 5% of the Perry Barr constituency electorate assuming all signees were actually eligible to vote in that constituency which they are almost certainly not.

The onus should be heavily on MTA to get their supporters into the UK on a specially laid on charter. Money from central government for security measures (that will almost certainly have been part of the original  decision) should be put in place to ensure safety from when any MTA fans land;  they should then be mildly kettled within the city till they go back out through security on their return. The WM police commissioner has asked the board to review this morning so with pressure from No10 I think this decision will be rightly reversed.

It is fucking complex and I agree the decision should be reversed, but I wonder if this would have got the same intervention from the PM if it hadn't involved a club from a Jewish nation.

I get the Labour party have massive legacy issues with antisemitism to deal with, but there's a risk of positive discrimination.

They should have been barred from the competition to begin with. Then again we're told than politics has no place in football, that is unless you're the head of FIFA lobbying for Donald Trump to get the Nobel prize.

BTW Badenoch trying to political pointscore off this by calling it 'a national disgrace' is, in itself, a fucking disgrace.

My thoughts entirely.

Looks like Israel are going to fuck up the Eurovision song contest this year too, and apart their regime being undeniably genocidal, they're not even European.

That's a kick in the balls. What do they think caused it?

A slow leak under the floorboards that we didn’t know was happening. The insurance bloke essentially went for the ‘wear and tear’ angle.

Apparently it would have took a sudden fracture in a water pipe or a flood (a flood in an upstairs room BTW ffs) for us to have chance of a claim.

Agreed with all that.
It’s fucking embarrassing him taking credit for it too when the petition will have had absolutely zero impact on the initial decision which would have been entirely about the potential risks.

I lost my kitchen ceiling around 20 years ago to a water leak when the hot water cylinder had a dodgy connection.

Insurance rightly didn't pay out for the repair of the tank (which needed replacing) but they did rightly pay out for the replacement kitchen ceiling which was covered under accidental damage.

The only acceptable grounds for denying your claim is either neglect or ignoring a problem that's manifesting - neither of which it sounds like you're guilty of.

I'd be challenging that if it was me, and threatening calling the ombudsman if necessary.

He was humping young lasses, at least one of whom has now killed herself. The idea that "oh you're not allowed to be the Duke" anymore is appropriate punishment ffs.

Of course it's being soberly covered as if it's a huge deal. He's a fucking paedo.

He's a great examplar of why we need to ditch the monarchy. Another narcissistic priveleged  psychopath who lacks any empathy and self awareness. He should be doing life in prison. He should be completely cut off from the Royal family and lose his ridiculous Prince title. He's probably the worst of the lot but I despise them all.

Aye, this stuff pisses me off. People judging other people and making assumptions. He's not going out on a stag weekend, he wants to go for a bike ride ffs. Probably good for his physical and mental health, and probably got his wife's blessing, not that it's anyone's business.
