I don’t think anyone is necessarily comparing them to each other directly , however it’s very well documented that each band had a strong influence on the other.

Sorts the right wing.

tbf Amorim needs at least a summer transfer window before anyone talks about sacking him. He's operating with ten Hag's nonsense. Fair to say they've already started with the overhaul you talk of.
-
that goes to my point about weakening the squad when we’re trying to build one. Fuck PSR

hell will freeze over before any club announcements are made man.

Retired in 2020 according to wikipedia. He was caretaker manager until Moyseyball returned to merseyside.

Terry Hibbitt was pretty tidy avec le ballon too.
-
to be fair we had to do ours before the CWC. think we'll see lots of outs, plus, possibly, a right back come in before september

you could always raise some case by selling us a right back and if you're short on readies we could look to loan you a left wing in exchange. would that help?

The reason Flange was sacked was because after winning the UEFA he had to be backed in the transfer window by Levy. Levy doesn't want to splash the cash let's be honest. So get Frank in and give him a few bob to spend and then go from there. Their squad like AH said isn't that great. I know they had injuries last season, but add CL football on top of that and it's going to be a strain. I do see them improving, but a Top 8? Not for me. Man United. Depends when Amirom will be sacked. He also doesn't have the players that want to play in his 'system'. Whatever that is and its going to take a LOT of money to overhaul that squad. Again, I see them and Spurs battling for 10-12 place. But there's a lot of competition for that.

it's hard to make predictions before the window closes and we know what our squad looks like but i think it's going to take some effort to improve on last season without some serious and smart investment. i'd like to think we'll qualify for CL again - or get close - but it'll be some achievement if we do. villa dropped off in the league last season in the the way we did the season before when we were in the CL. plus the legacy "big six" clubs still have bigger spending power than us because of the bullshit rules and are splashing the cash. despite all that, i expect we'll be in the conversation again because howe is fucking class.

Does Leighton Baines still play?
-
Fucking hell. What a tonal shift
-
Agreed - both squads are absolutely shite, but both will almost certainly improve.

Not even sure Spurs have a great squad tbh. It was telling when you looked at the two teams in the EL final that neither club has got transfers right for a long time. Maybe a more disciplined manager like Frank will see them improve (probably) but I don’t think the likes of us, Villa and maybe even Forest would see too many players they’d desperately want. -
Wide of the mark.

Yeah this looks awful. Was headed for Gatwick apparently - around 50 British people on board.

without significant investment i think we'll drop off in the league this season because of extra CL fixtures. and it sounds like we are still constrained by PSR - i don't see us blowing the type of wedge your lot, chelsea, liverpool or chelsea will. talk is our budget is around £100m and we'll need to flog some first team players to increase it, which is in itself annoying because we're trying to build a squad to compete on four fronts. realistically i think top six and another cup run will be a great season for us. top four will be another howe coaching miracle, and a serious challenge for the title is still a few years away. rotating the squad is also something howe has to learn to do. our best form usually occurs when he plays the same team week in, week out and we go on a mad winning run - howe and the players have that in them. but it's harder to do that with the extra midweek games because you risk too many injuries. he tried it last time we were in the CL and we finished 7th, with half the squad injured most of the season due to our high intensity style of play.

Fair play to City. Every other team has struggled to get a signing in early doors and City have pretty much finished their business already.

Brett Emerton by the end of the week FTW

i know, but we all do it. i think right now its liverpools to lose. they're attempting to strength and seem to be buying well which doesn't help the rest of us. arsenal are arsenal, and will look great but then collapse chelsea can't decide who to include in their PL squad we're in transition. so who knows what we'll be like. replacing tired legs with fresh legs. and tired ideas with fresh. guardiola will never abandon possession (the opposition can't hurt you if they don't have the ball) but he mentioned that football has moved on from possession based. he's brought in a set play coach for gawds sake. we are awful at set pieces since our guy went to arsenal. quite excited for the CWC and next season already.
