I'm generation WTF?
-
Gen Z is anyone from late 90s to around 2010, from memory - so we're just about to start seeing the Alphas hit adulthood in the coming few years. Z followed Millennials. And I have no idea man, I suspect the media just throw shit around until something sticks and we all run with it.
-
Who's Z again? (and who makes this shit up?)
-
-
Generation Alpha is the latest one to be defined after Z I feel bad for the ones who grow up as Gen Beta.
-
Ok boomer.
-
Self imposed hiatus from News Now for me. New link every 10 minutes. Setting myself up for disappointment.
-
I hope they haven’t
-
Sunderland have paid decent money for 3 players and I've never heard of any of them. I hope to god they've put relegation clauses in their contracts
-
hard to disagree with any of that. Hopefully they pull their fingers out sharpish and we can all chill out
-
oy @Craig.... the number of people who need to have a long hard look at how they're conducting themselves appears to be growing daily.

"Say what, muthafucka?"
-
Aye, vindicated.

It does have to be a gradual, incremental move. They could start by talking about it - might bring a few more people on board with these cuts, at least from the left. See the thing is, I look at this and think "well, if the situation in the country was really that dire, they'd be telling the truth about it. They'd be acknowledging why we are where we are, and how urgently we need to rectify that". They're not doing that though, so I assume none of them are serious people and this is all just posturing to show they're tough on the economy.

I get the impression he's sometimes not so much full of shit but makes the most out of not too much.

Trafford will hopefully done “early as next week” says Douglas I’m sure these things are complicated but fuck me, we must be the only club who drags things out like this
-
You're talking like the markets are some abstract thing. They're not, Truss's budget completely fucked my mortgage and my finances, and there's millions of people like me. And then there's the national debt to think about, and the interest to be paid which will push up the deficit and fuck public services even more. Labour were actually pretty clear on what they would do, or at least what they wouldn't do, raise working taxes. They've kept their pledges and are still vilified for it. I agree I'd like Brexit reversed. But this will have to be a gradual incremental move. And it will have to be done with agreement with all thee 27 EU countries and even some regions. Its not going to be a short process, and considering many EU countries are also struggling economically, it's also not a panacea.

Whatever way you look at it, it's a piss poor start to summer proceedings. Very insipid. It's difficult to pin down who's to blame but there appears to be failures on multiple fronts. - Mitchell appears to have been a horseshit hire. Done nothing but stir amongst key personnel at the club and lambast the very successful transfers done previously. Yes, perhaps under PSR we do need to shop differently than buying expensive premier league talent but how often do we actually do that? Sales were minimal because our players weren't of a standard others would pay top or moderate £ for. - We've been led to believe that the lack of investment in 3 windows and selling Almiron & Kelly halfway through the season, would benefit immediate and future windows. Hardly hit the ground running, pre season starts next week & Eddie explicitly stated his desire to do transfer business early. Brunos post match wording appeared to back up the necessity for new players & it felt like a great show of defiance against Mitchell (who fucked off swiftly after) and a reminder to the board. We don't seem to have acted on that. - If we are constrained by PSR, then focus on a few acquisitions rather than trying to low ball clubs, to hit an accumulative figure that means you get everything you want. Buy what you can without the piss being taken out of you and shop again in the next window. Constant refreshment of the side is a vital show of ambition and positive for team morale & standards. Alternately, shop for a mix of ready made players and lower value ones in Europe and take a punt. Yes we need to get most things right & we have to date but it feels we're at an impasse now. - The fact we haven't replaced Eales yet is a joke. There seems to be a lack of management at the top & decision makers aren't making decisions. - Communication across the board has been awful for a good while now on multiple fronts and that supports the previous, doesn't feel like there are decision makers at the club or, not all are pulling in the same direction. This time of the year is meant to be enjoyed. Just won a trophy, qualified for the champions league again, we have players who every other club wants & we on paper, have excellent backers with material growth opportunities evident. We also have the best manager I think we've ever had. Expecting him to perform miracles is totally unfair & I think if he's not backed & we don't see material growth, he and or players will want out. He's a clever operator and playing small bits out in public to swing power in his direction but surely this is pissing him right off? I'm hoping we pull a few signings out the bag in the coming weeks. Ones not linked to in the press (as has been the case in the past) and hopefully they get us excited. If not, massive opportunity missed & a big uphill climb this season. Also, fucking sign Trafford for fuck sake. It's getting tedious.

Well he was removed from the squad list 2 days ago, and then added back in the next day

I mean this in the nicest possible way - I don't give a flying fuck about the markets. If they can survive chaos like Trump, they can survive pretty much anything. Beyond that, whether the others have a plan or not, they're under no obligation to give any pointers to the government. Labour took the same stance when the Tories were in charge, they said absolutely fuck all about what they would do. But I do have something for you anyway, as it goes - rejoin the EU. That's what I'd be yelling for. £36bn a year out of the public purse... That wealth tax is coming by the way, Gen Z and Alpha are going to eat people alive at this rate. Unsure how the markets would react to several generations worth of desperate, frustrated rage - but we'll see.

Read the subtitles you lazy sod! I took someone's advice and waited for S3 so now can binge the lot. The first series ended pretty perfectly for me so this does reek of "lost" money spinning to me.

The fucking dub in Squid Game it’s like someone has AI translated a Japan only PS2 game

Just watching C4 news. Apparently the markets flipped when they thought she might have resigned, but calmed when Labour confirmed she was safe. This is the issue we have now, if Labour don't do what the markets want, the bond yield rises and we're all fucked. Starmer and Reeves are constantly between a rock and a hard place here. Its easy to snipe from the sidelines but I'm just not hearing from the Tories, Reform, Liberal Dems, Greens or Labour Left what the answer is. "Wealth tax" seems to be the cry but how would this work in practice, would it spook the markets, or would it have other unforeseen consequences? None of this is easy.

Communication between club and fans is now back at fat Ash/Penfold levels. Cant even tell us if Callum Wilsons officially f*cked off or not
