Sir Eddie’s club legends v Everton - happy and glorious
Christmas Tree replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
I disagree. We haven’t signalled anything by winning the cup.Have palace now arrived as a major threat? The only thing that makes us a major threat is constantly upgrading this squad we have now. If we miss CL football, we could lose players that we love and players that we would love to sign may not come. Lose on Sunday and the gulf between where we could have been and where we will be next season will be large. I agree totally that it’s brilliant for us fans to have finally won a cup, but it’s a no brainer which is more important to the clubs future. We are arriving at a massive junction with plenty of dead wood on the books and older players that have run their course. There is no guarantee that new players will work out, but that gets even harder if we are shopping on a budget. We may start next season with a worse performing team, that might lead our owners to question whether Eddie has taken them as far as we can go. That may be followed by a shit manager, playing shit football and we spiral like Man U, Tottenham etc Not that I’m worried -
Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

Nice to see this, however hearing his cousin in Liverpool, Robin, is hoping for a similar position 😀 -
He really doesnt get that this lazily stubborn thinking is not the badge of honor that he seems to think it is, and sections of the media have lapped it up and supported him. "Oh he's got his way of doing things" etc etc. Imagine a normal person making a total mess of their job and then gloating that they're not going to change or try to adapt. Sacked the next day probably right? Not that I'm complaining. Ten Hag was a gift and this bloke seems to be an even bigger one

Let’s hope Real Betis do us all a favour next week as well. What a season it would be for Arsenal, Man City, Man United and Chelsea to all win fuck all
-
That’s no way to talk about his missus.
-
Spot on, and on the last bit yeah, I've started thinking that kind of thing myself.
-
At least when we were shite we were sitting pretty in the Mike Ashley Premier League Balance Sheet table.

“ Comic relief member “
-
I know they were the comic relief member of the group, but Spurs were big 6 themselves, no
-
Newcastle Crystal Palace Spurs all get to finals and beat teams from Sky’s fabled “big 6”….
- Today

Incredible how the football Gods have smiled on us recently. Never thought I'd see us win a trophy, and the next thing I'd wish for football wise after Nufc success is Manu being dragged through the mud on their faces. Both in the same season, in this fashion too? Brilliant

You’ve definitely miss a trick there like. Surely your honeymoon is the best excuse you’ll get for someone else to take care of your kids while you lie on a beach?
-
Not being funny here but have you thought about upping your dosage?
-
Congratulations!
-
Aye. Last month.
-
I actually fell asleep in between. Just woke up in time. I have to say that us beating Liverpool, Palace beating Man City and the cunts being unable to win against Spurs in a final is a nice change.

Ange is at the wheel.
-
Rio Ferdinand: ‘Levy needs to make sure that Ange stays and they build on this’. I think we can all agree with that.
-
The shockingly sad thing about all this is they’ve won their first trophy in a generation, however shit they have been, but it matters little to them. They’re more interested in the fact they’re in next season’s CL. Doesn’t feel right.
-
It's not bad being able to watch other teams win things and it doesn't matter cos we've won something ourselves.
-
Someone has been reading up.
-
Nee fireworks like? Ah here they are. Ticker tape and shit.
-
I’ve genuinely seen better quality women’s football matches than that.
