  1. Thing is, that ferret story could have been true. They had been used in a similar role by Boeing when they started making the 747 and needed to thread wires about. Imagine if there was actually something like an alien invaision today. No-one would believe the news at all.
  2. Any healthcare system that treats people like 'consumers' and 'customers' rather than patients is barmy in my opinion. Labour always bang on about 'consumer choice' and other such management nonsense, but when you have a scaffold pole sticking out your chest, you're not really thinking "Hmmm, I think I'd like to go to St. Jimmy's in Leicester as they have sky sports and the food is pretty good." You don't choose to be ill, or have an accident, so market forces are some silly ideological game.
  3. What a wanker. How many times will he witter on about how he's changed, how he is a normal person deep down, and how he'll strive for the team? It's all bollocks as all he is interested in is himself, and could give a shit about whichever team pays him. Scouse twat.
  4. I blame the Greeks as they invented gayness.
  5. I remember when Blair got Cherie up the duff as well. It was the same day he went a bit mental and called supporters of Ken Livingston 'a rag bag of former Trotskyists' and was generally losing it over the fact Ken was on his way to becoming London mayor. The timing of the announcement was suspicious. Anyway, I hear the 'Dave' is actually a nice guy, but his daughter really plays up when the mum is about.
  6. Aaaarrrghh!!!! My eyes!!!! Whichever team that is has Stevie Wonder designing their kit. Although it does make me think of that blue away kit you had around 1993 or 1994. West Ham reveal new kit today.......................... As does Burnley.
  7. Mancini will be worried, whilst Carlo will have to look out for a return for Hiddink, or Van Basten or maybe even Rjikaard. I just can't see him moving to the red bin dippers as they are a really fading force with little money and fewer prospects.
  8. If the rumours are true, then I suggest Racing rotate the goals 180 degrees and make the goalie face the crowd.
  9. An entertainingly insane fuckwit on Fox News - his latest classic was to proclaim that anyone who talked about "Social Justice" was either a Stalinist or a Nazi. never heard of him but he sounds like a bit of a fruitloop right enough. Fruitloop is an understatement. Put it this way, if he was British, he'd be standing on a street corner with a tinfoil hat proclaiming the end of society if another Polish immigrant got a job and that anyone who has ever voted Labour is a Communist Nazi. Leazes has copyright on that I believe. Is that the description of Glenn Beck, or actually being the tinfoil hat wearing nutcase?
  10. I am surprised that the healthcare reforms were pushed through. Democrats are usually useless with exploiting a majority in the Senate and the H of R. Normally the Republicans are ruthless in exploiting things from such a position, as the Democrats almost proved by the narrow margins the bill has been passed. Obama has the charisma of a great President, but he isn't radical enough to really rip up the gun tottin' FOX News watchin' good ole boys who sleep with their sisters and marry their cousins.
  11. Never understood why Victoria Wood was so popular. Or that Jewish yank woman Silverman or whatever her name is.
  12. He then goes home and stubs his toe on the skirting board as his wife asks "How did the game go darling?"
  13. Once people realize that this healthcare deal really isn't that bad and the beast doesn't rise from the lake of fire, they'll try and remember why they got all worked up about it to start with. It is nuts over here though. Have you all been hearing about the people who voted for this thing getting death threats and whatnot? Some Representative got a bullet through his window because he voted for the bill. Not surprising, really though. Pitiful state of education + Fox News = stupid scared people. And stupid scared people do stupid scary things. Fucking hell. People that stupid and irrational don't deserve universal healthcare. If they carry on like that, then I'd be tempted to introduce a bill whereby only those with an annual salary of $1,000,000 and politicans can get any healthcare- i.e. 90% have no cover whatsoever. Then they'll have a reason to be so worked up. Politics over there seems so utterly polarised, and irrational it is unbelievable. It is a case of who can shout the loudest and scare the most wins. Intellectual discourse and a rational discussion on ideology is somehow snobbish. And all the while the rednecks are being fleeced by the capitalist bigwigs.

  15. Surely the last one will end with him in a mental hospital. All the crazy shit that he has had to deal with would break normal people.
  16. Hughton should be given a chance once you're promoted, its only fair as he has got you going again and restored a bit of confidence. Mind you Hughes is a very good manager, although his tactics can be a bit like Allardyce's at times.
  17. What next? Jimmy Saville revealed as a creepy old man? Alan Shearer once played football? Tom Jones shags about?
  18. Carroll is nowhere near ready for England. He's not good enough, and plays in the wrong division to judge him. He might be considered for Euro 2012 after a couple of seasons in the Premiership, but not now.
  19. Crap game, crap pitch and a tense atmosphere helped make this look bad. The problem with the Premiership is that any half decent player coming through the ranks at a club like say us or Wolves are usually gobbled up by a rich team and then end up in their reserves. Same goes for any shit-hot 15/16 year old-Arsenal, Chelsea or even Spuds poach them, so then no 'lesser' club can have a few good players to build a proper team around. Of course that leads to a lack of real quality and the need for negative tactics. The current Newcastle squad is probably good enough for anywhere around 12th-18th in the current Premiership.
  20. Hmmmm. Realpolitik types would now realise that Israel is a lame duck right now, and that the smart thing to do would be to side with Iran, and try to woo them into a similar relationship. Why? 1. They are the main regional power, and unlike Israel, they can influence Arab countries and don't have enemies on all sides. 2. They have lots of oil, and hold the key to whether or not the oil rich regions are also stable. 3. Dropping Israel for Iran would be a strike against the propaganda of Islamic terrorists. 4. Iran supply the Taliban and Iraqi insurgents with weapons. If they are our friends, then they would probably stop this. 5. Opium comes through Iran en route to Europe. If we worked together, the supply might be cut, and both Europe and Iran would benefit. It would also cut funds for the Taliban. How we can get Iran to stop being so anti-Western and generally bombastic is the hard part. It has been difficult to deal with them since 1979. However, it would make sense to drop Israel, and court Iran right now. Or arm all those protesters who oppose the current President and create a civil war, which may sweep the whole Theocracy away.
  21. Frank Sinclair was always good value for own goals.
  22. It just shows how corruption erodes all vast monolithic institutions. I'm no fan of Catholicism, it's past is littered with persecution, and abuse of all kinds, and it is far too domineering and arrogant. All the covering up of the padeophile priests just highlights how such an institution thinks itself above the law. On Stephen Nolan's show in Northern Ireland some prick called Dooley who is in the Church in Ireland said he would not feel compelled to tell the police if he heard that a priest was doing things to kids. In fact he said he absolutely wouldn't alert the authorities. Makes you wonder why people buy into something that believes itself to be above the law, and would happily let your children be violated without your knowledge. And has a fucking Nazi as it's boss.
