  1. Over the moon with the four points, most points already made, defensively some very good displays, midfield looked a bit shaky at times but will do well in most games, Cabaye I feel will only get better, Tiote definitely will get better, up front we're as weak as piss, thought Shola did ok on his own as it happens, that was risky by Pardew and it didn't look like coming off in the first half, play like that in a game where we go a goal down and it doesn't look good. After the first two games I don't think we'll go down and I was worried about it, don't think we'll finish in top half either with the same squad, goals mean points and we've lost our two main goalscoring threats whether people think it was too good to turn down or too long a contract blah, blah, fact is those goals need replaced. In short, some good signs also a few bad signs.
  2. I was told you get salt and sauce when I went to an Edinburgh chippy. It was just a mixture of broon sauce with vinegar if you ask me, tasted just like vinegar really.
  3. I can think of very few, and I mean less than 5 top flight gates of 15,000. West Ham in our final game of our relegation season of 1988/89 was 14,000 and err, I'm struggling a bit now, and I've been going since 1983. Think we had a similar bad gate in our last match the previous relegation in the late seventies. When it comes to attendances if Mackems think they've a claim to good loyal support then they can't possibly have a go at ours which has historically been better even bettering theirs by thousands when in a lower league. The rest of the shite they've come out with is basically a bunch of straw chewing, fucking imbeciles sitting round a camp fire telling tales about the Bogeyman, each Dough-heed trying to better his mates NUFC story with one of his own. Why was the Roker derbies I went to never sold out in the late eighties/early nineties? Sunderland weren't that keen on coming up here and thats a fact borne out by the length of time it used to take them to sell out their away allocation. A derby at Roker was a mass mobilisation of Mags wanting to go and the fact there was always hundreds in their end at every derby I ever went to proved it, (and they didn't all stand quietly either.) Fucking no way was that in any way, shape or form the case in the reverse fixture and they know it.
  4. Any recommendations for a new mobile? I've kept my old one for a bit and got a real cheap good deal for doing it but the internet keeps going off on it and its time to bite the bullet and get a new one. Want something unlocked or tmobile so I can switch sims and keep the good deal I'm on and am looking at something no more than about £120. Are the android phones that big a deal?
  5. Agreed, and I couldn't stand Nick's threads. Maybe a temporary name change to Tampaxtastic is in order to help this MB through its recent bad period until normal service is resumed.
  6. what you have are some older posters who used to watch ossie lead out teams of mascots in front of 14,000 or so fans and younger posters who grew up in the Keegan days. Had I grew up in the Keegan days I would probably be equally negative. This,CT, is poorly thought out. For years throughout the 'shite' times many fans, players, ex-players, managers and pundits have all speculated on what NUFC would be like if we took off. 14,000 fans wasn't the norm by the way as you should be aware of as on older head. The potential was recognised, so it's a bit misleading to think all the criticism is from those who grew up in the KK era.
  7. Most of the time I'm the same, to be honest.
  8. Can I suggest putting this music to your post as people could read it in the style of Bruno Brookes? (Just to give it a bit of flavour). No need for thanks, Dadoon.
  9. Please can you post this Twitter bollocks in the Twitter thread so I can ignore it? Thanks ever so Its the local writer for the Journal and Sunday Sun advising whats in the paper tomorrow so a bit more substantial than twitter bollocks. The local press is at an all time low in their standard of reporting on NUFC, (Not that they were any great shakes in the past) so I wouldn't be giving them much credence, CT. (plus what he puts on twatter can always be changed or watered down).
  10. Tom, you del-ewa-ded Maggie fu-a-king cunt, you. Everyone hates Newecastle but loves sundaland. FTM, etc, wibble. To be fair I think there's a majority of people who either hate us or say something negative about us right round the country, but no one loves Sunderland, like no one hates them neither, they're just there, unnoticed, not hated, and unloved. I know that, you know that and so do they they but they'll put it down to us being arrogant while conveniently forgetting their own irrelevance in others mindsets.
  11. They genuinely believe that. It's hilarious but nothings more pathetic than their little ''friendships'' with clubs like their little Villa love in* and their ''SAFC want justice for the 96'' banner. It's so cringe worthy it's unreal. Other clubs can get to fuck for all I care. *That swiftly ended once they took the best player. You forgot Norwich* and the 'friendly final' love-in as well as metorphorically wanking the blue Mancs off because they once took 12,000, 13,000, 14,000, 15,000, 17,000 fans there once. *Wasn't that long ago Northumbria Police were trying to track a Sunderland fan in his twenties who punched a 15 year old Norwich fan in front of his 18 year old sister so don't know how that affected the Entente Cordiale between the clubs.
  12. Tom, you del-ewa-ded Maggie fu-a-king cunt, you. Everyone hates Newecastle but loves sundaland. FTM, etc, wibble.
  13. I love Mackems, there to make us feel better about things since 1879.
  14. I predict a Mackem will come on here and make a tit of himself..........shit too late!
  15. What’s pathetic is the way some of the people who used to be in the LC can’t see past the end of their noses. A lot of them, possibly most of them, are too young to have stood on the terraces. Yet there they were yesterday handing out lectures on the merits of standing to people who stood on the terraces for twenty years. What the evictees are going to learn is it’s not so much the people who determine the culture in the stands but how rigorously the ground rules are enforced. Give it a season or two under a more hard-line stewarding regime and even the most delusional evictees will have stopped comparing cock sizes at half time and will turning up with a flask and a blanket. As I said earlier most the lads and lasses kicked out the LC were sound. It’s the sizable minority who don’t know any better who are going have their bubble well and truly burst as the reality of all seater stadia kicks in. Not sure what you're saying, anyone working themselves are obviously wrong but anyone getting upset a bit of standing/being more vocal/the odd swearing etc are just as bad. Are you realy advocating that people should all become a flask and blanket brigade member because that isn't what set my pulse racing when I started going to games on the terracing.
  16. Watched the match on the tv, atmosphere sounded shit. Missed the craic, or would've missed the craic had I been in L7. Not surprised evictees aren't happy, it's one of the reasons I stopped going a good few years ago as the ST/all seater culture completely spoiled things for a 'radgie' for want of a better word. Only picked up when I went back to L7 before they moved into the corner. If they can fuck something up and spoil things they will. I'm now an exile till he fucks off, to be honest. I've had enough. Oh, we were fucking shite, by the way, I've seen more cutting edge on a placca knife from an airplane.
  17. I've told you a million times not to exaggerate. (But I know what you mean, still a great shirt though and comparing it to wearing a Sunderland shirt is way, way OTT)
  18. Good post Craig, not sure about the Sheedy* bit, like, but spot on with the Venison and Beresford signings. I'd probably say the time KK really sold us as a club going places was when we pinched Rob Lee from then Premier league Boro, the 'Newcastle is closer to London than Boro was a bit of a joke and a smokescreen, what KK actually told Lee was he could go to Middlesbrough and plod along but he'd have to sit and watch as this huge ocean liner steamed past them in a years time, us being that ocean liner. Compare KK's enthusiasm and knowledge that we were a big club who would thrive once the shackles of the McKeags/Seymours were thrown off. (They loved the club, really, they were just small businessmen who'd inherited NUFC from their fathers and were incapable of driving our club forward). Pardew does as he's told and thinks we might make the top ten if we're lucky and 'bigger' clubs, (fuck off, 'Pards') don't get our better players. Compare and contrast. * Tidy player, but his best days were gone, Sellars was far better and was another KK sold NUFC to not that long after.
  19. Normally hate seeing any young'un with another clubs top on but this one I seen in ASDA made me smile. He had a Liverpool top on with 'CORKHILL' on the back. The temptation to say 'ey, ey, La! 'ows your Billy? Does he still see our Te and our Barry?'
  20. Thinking in advance hasn't been something the club could put on their CV, CT.
  21. I could see Stevie and Pacinofan meeting in a bar to have it out with each other but when their eyes locked something would stir in their breasts and these opposites would attract in a fit of passion.
