  2. Swiss club Young Boys have announced that Hull have signed Guinea defender Kamil Zayatte on loan for the rest of the season. The 23-year-old joined Young Boys in 2007 from Lens and has made 41 appearances for the club, scoring one goal. Earlier this summer, Zayatte had a trial spell with Newcastle but failed to earn a contract at St James' Park. He becomes Phil Brown's ninth signing at the KC Stadium since Hull were promoted to the Premier League. jesus
  3. aye hes a fucking prick, was in the pub and no1 cud actually believe what he was saying. someone (with absolutely nowt else to do) shud get sumthing sent to setanta to complain
  4. skysports. think they got it from the sunday sun who are saying..... NEWCASTLE are hopeful of clinching a triple transfer swoop before tomorrow night’s deadline. But are set to see Michael Owen snub their new contract offer and open up the prospect of a shock move elsewhere. The Magpies have agreed to sign Uruguayan midfielder Ignacio “Nacho” Gonzalez from Valencia on a one-year loan deal. Cameroon left-back Thimothee Atouba is hopeful of completing a move from Hamburg to Newcastle on Monday. And United are in negotiations with Swiss club Young Boys of Berne over Guinean utility player Kamil Zayatte, who has impressed on trial on Tyneside. Meanwhile, Chelsea winger Florent Malouda remains on the Magpies’ radar while the possibility remains of Real Madrid’s Robinho replacing him at Stamford Bridge. But Newcastle are braced for bad news on Owen, who is ready to reject their offer of a one-year £80,000-a-week contract extension. Owen is unwilling to take a £30,000-a-week pay cut as he enters the final year of his current deal and the prospect of being free to talk to any interested clubs from January. But Manchester United and Tottenham, depending on the progress of Dimitar Berbatov’s proposed move to Old Trafford from White Hart Lane, and Everton may yet look to tempt Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to cash in on Owen now. Losing his prize asset would be a hammer blow to manager Kevin Keegan following the controversial sale of James Milner to Aston Villa. Yet an offer of £8 million or more would be tempting for Ashley, who knows Owen could leave for a fraction of that amount in the new year or for nothing next summer. Gonzalez will not arrive on Tyneside for at least a week while he is on international duty with Uruguay. The 26-year-old has only just signed for Valencia from Uruguayan club Danubio, but Valencia coach Unai Emery is willing to part with him because his squad is top-heavy with midfielders. Tottenham old boy Atouba failed to show on Tyneside for a scheduled medical on Friday, but the Hamburg left-back’s agent, Sven Achnitz, said last night: “The deal is not dead.” And Newcastle’s executive director Dennis Wise is trying to thrash out a deal with Young Boys of Berne for 23-year-old Zayatte, who can play at right-back, centre-half or as a defensive midfielder. :: Newcastle have been drawn at home against Spurs in the third round of the Carling Cup which will be played week commencing September 22.
  5. Newcastle have agreed a loan deal for Valencia's Uruguay international Ignacio Gonzalez, according to the Spanish club. The midfielder only joined Los Che over the summer, but with Unai Emery's squad currently well stocked in that department he has been allowed to move on. The South American is expected to sign a season-long deal on Tyneside, although he will not join up with his new team-mates until he returns from international duty. Gonzalez is due to represent his country in 2010 World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Ecuador on 6th and 10th September respectively. Reports in Spain suggest the 26-year-old has already passed a medical at St James' Park, with the paperwork set to be pushed through before the transfer window closes on Monday. "We have many players who can play in midfield and this is an excellent solution for both sides," Valencia vice-president Fernando Gomez told reporters after Saturday's game with Mallorca. "We expect the formalities to be completed on Monday morning."
  6. Hamburg have withdrawn Thimothee Atouba from their squad to face Arminia Bielefeld due to his uncertain transfer situation. Manager Martin Jol had been expecting the former Tottenham defender to travel to England on Friday to undergo a medical with Newcastle United. However, the 26-year-old Cameroon international unexpectedly returned to training with the Bundesliga club ahead of their weekend match. Unclear With Atouba's future unclear, Hamburg have now opted to omit him from their squad this weekend as a move to The Magpies could seemingly still be on the cards. "He [Atouba] originally wanted to travel to England on Friday to undergo a medical with Newcastle United, but then surprisingly turned up at team training," read a statement on the club's official website. "Because the Cameroonian's future is unclear, coach Martin Jol has removed him from the squad for (Arminia) Bielefeld." Looks like theyve given up on warnock and are taking him instead. Not sure on this one. Sumthing of an unknown quantity too me
  7. aye but why do no decent clubs want skeljebred?

  9. If we were going to sell why they keep it quiet to begin with? Maybe they knew public pressure wud tell and once the board knew most people would like him to stay they'd keep him? I imagine today that keegan made his stance on the matter straight. I'd throw in the towel if players were sold behind my back, how can he possibly do his job if thats the way it is
  10. i think he'll definately stay, if hes sold keegans off, hes said he wants him to stay and it should be his decision. probably find a new contract has been agreed very quickly
  11. any1 know why morrison has 8+1 or 9+1 on his shirt? or whatever it is
  12. haha weve absolutely murdered them too. theyre lucky not to be losing by 4 or 5
  13. I see Portsmouth have signed Arsenal's French left-back Armand Traore on a one-year loan deal. Any reason why we didnt get in there first
  14. ive got 2 ST's and they have 107 and 97 respectively
  15. haha did you make that comment then alter wikipedia to On Monday the 18th August officials for Newcastle United flew to Spain to Begin talks, over the transfer of Sobis. They agreed a fee of 17 million euros and the player will join Newcastle on friday after agreeing terms. hmmmm
  16. A nice little read from a cockney rag! unbelievably Keegan's badge of courage is rewarded as Martins goal pegs United back Manchester United 1 Newcastle 1 Kevin Keegan has been lampooned in Manchester for many years, since his neurotic TV outburst during the heat of the 1996 Premier League title race. Today, however, English football owes the Newcastle manager a debt after his team came to Old Trafford with rare courage and ambition to deprive Manchester United of a winning start to their season. Ask any of the few managers who have enjoyed success against United over the years and they will tell you that half of the battle is in the mind. In short, it's about attitude. Ball-watching: United's defence can only stare as Obafemi Martins puts Newcastle ahead Yesterday Keegan brought his team to the north-west and instructed them to try to beat Sir Alex Ferguson's formidable side. Newcastle played with two banks of four and deployed Damien Duff as a slightly deeper foil to goalscorer Obafemi Martins. It made quite a difference to the negative 4-5-1 used by so many visiting managers at this stadium. Newcastle were not reckless or cavalier in the way they went about their work, but they were ambitious. As such, a draw was the very least they deserved. For Ferguson and his depleted ranks, this was a dispiriting day. The afternoon began with home fans holding up coloured paper spelling out the missive: 'More Goals Please'. Howay the lads: Kevin Keegan salutes the travelling Toon fans It was a little rich in some ways, given the number of goals United plundered on the way to securing a league and Champions League double last season. And, in truth, it was unlikely to happen yesterday. With Cristiano Ronaldo — scorer of 42 goals last season — sitting in the stand injured and other attacking players such as Louis Saha, Nani, Ji-Sung Park and Anderson similarly unavailable, United look a little blunt on paper and that was very much the case on the field. The Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov would enhance any team in Europe and he would certainly be useful at the moment. Ferguson's team looked a little one-dimensional, especially when injuries deprived them of the sprightly Ryan Giggs and their best passer, Michael Carrick. Wayne Rooney was on tenacious form but — as is often the case when United are not on song — he did much of his most noticeable work in the wrong areas. Berbatov would bring United some much-needed shape and structure. The Old Trafford board are intensifying their efforts to sign the Bulgarian and quite right too. If they need to pay over the odds for this one, then they should. Ferguson continues to insist that United will be okay if they don't add to their squad in the next two weeks. On this one he may be wrong. There is no guarantee that Ronaldo will be as influential when he returns from injury in October. Both his physical and mental condition remain difficult to predict. 'We are working on bringing in another top striker and having added strength up front is a situation I really enjoy,' said Ferguson in his programme notes. Leveller: Rooney celebrates with Fletcher, who scored United's equaliser 'But if our plans don't come to fruition then it's hardly the end of the road, because we certainly won't be going backwards with the players we have.' Ferguson's faith in his young players is well-placed. The jury is out on young Fraizer Campbell but the Brazilian trio of Rodrigo Possebon and Rafael and Fabio Da Silva appear to have an immediate comfort when in possession that characterises players of real quality. Players like this will be part of United's future, however, and the present merely sees Ferguson's team two league points behind Chelsea already. Plenty to ponder: United's lack of firepower is a cause for concern for Sir Alex Ferguson The home team certainly started brightly and would have taken an early lead had Campbell's diving header from a Rooney cross not struck Newcastle goalkeeper Shay Given square on the forehead. Given also saved well from Rooney — low to his right — and then when Paul Scholes tried to follow up, but Newcastle were always in the game. Their goal came in the 24th minute after defender Steven Taylor's volley was deflected over for a corner. Danny Guthrie delivered a routine corner and when Martin's escaped the attention of the dithering Darren Fletcher his powerful header proved too much for Scholes, guarding the far post. Briefly, Newcastle sensed something really special. But United are expert at trampling on people's dreams and back they came within a minute. With Taylor off the pitch injured, Newcastle were short of numbers as United attacked down the left. Patrice Evra fed Giggs and in turn the Welshman's low cross was adroitly turned past Given by the outside of Fletcher's right boot. From then on, the game was an even contest. United perhaps enjoyed the greater possession but Newcastle attacked vibrantly on the counter. Nemanja Vidic headed another corner down and on to the cross bar while Campbell saw a fierce low shot turned aside. But Newcastle did not deserve to lose. New signings Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez both enjoyed terrific debuts as Newcastle's season began with unexpected promise. Perhaps there is hope, after all. For Newcastle and the rest of the Premier League.
  17. how much did we pay £7m? seems like a rediculous buy. Cos even when Allardyce bought him he didnt play him for 4 months or something
  18. Aye but they obviously see Enrique as more of a liability though
  19. Duno if this has already been mentioned today but im assuming nobody really rates him as both allardyce and keegan choose to play N'Zogbia at LB instead of him. Pretty sure there will be a new LB coming in this week and you may well see Enrique packing his bags
