On a train to Frankfurt, heroically hungover. The trio of old dears opposite have spent the last hour complaining about a "vibration" in the carriage and are showing no signs of stopping.

I'm celebrating Valentine's Day by buggering off to Germany for four days. I've left him a giant lasagna in the fridge though (not a euphemism) (not that I have any idea what it could be a euphemism for, anyway).

Saw Brandi Carlile tonight. Genuinely the most fun I've had at a gig for years. Amazing voice and great entertainment.

I remember some Le Tissier-esque "too far norf" quotes being attributed to Salako at the time, but that might just have been the Chronicle being the Chronicle

Wait, what's whoopee?

Given how quick you are to equate "women" to "gay men", I do wonder what goes through your mind when you're banging your lass.

The only common ingredients are the garlic and soy sauce.

"Red Ed" ffs. As if there's been any "red" left in Labour since 1994 at the latest.

Gerraway man, 400 isn't a "tiny" venue, that's more than half the places I ever watch music. Nice environment for an act like Eels though.

Saw that on BBC FOUR, it was very good. The "support" when I saw Eels with strings in Hamburg was a Russian cartoon called . At the Brighton Dome a couple of years ago it was a juggler.

Nearly picked up some spring greens to go in the pancakes instead of spinach. But I didn't. Fascinating story, I realise.

Big fat hugs Dave.

"Yet another food scandal? This is starting to feel like Groundhorse Day"

Have you tried Maoz in Soho, Gloomy? Don't know if you're ever out and about in that neck of the woods these days, but they do the whole open falafel sandwich, sauce & salad bar thing. Not as authentic (or as much fun) as the Levantine holiday experience, I'm sure, but easily the best thing with which to start/end a night out within a considerable radius of Old Compton Street.

Aye, you'll never train people to use tags though. Not in sufficient quantities at least. Suppose retro-fitting tags could be a mod duty too...
