Prince Harry fighting in Afghanistan

Ah sorry I misunderstood. I thought you were saying people had been criticising him for not going before Christmas. I meant it wasn't his choice he didnt go as he clearly wanted to. Anyway, I think you and I are on the same page -
Shame he's been recycling the same jokes for the last 5 years

To be fair to him, I dont think it was his choice he didnt go last time. I think the fact he's ended up going out there is down to his perseverance. Also, I think the fact he's gone out there, with no fanfare and just quietly slipped in and gotten on with his job is commendable. He's not asked for special treatment and from the report I was listening to this morning, he's not really gotten any. I'm sure the moral boost for the others with have been significant also. If he can come out and fight for his grandmother and his country alongside the common man it speaks volumes. I take the point about it being a big victory for the enemy if they killed him but I'm sure we'd have a contingency plan for that. My biggest gripe is with the poxy yank rag that leaked the story. They can't understand why we'd let someone like him go out. We're British FFS, we have a sense of honour and commitment. I hope MI6 launch a plan to cripple the newspaper through some International scandal. Or maybe I've been watching Spooks too much -
Nope. It's back with Acer because of hardware faults. I've been through the whole activation thing and had it explained to me.

iTunes is playing my mixed playlist with all manner of stuff on it. Perfect for my all-nighter (work not play). Slither - Velvet Revolver, just came on. Dirty

If you wiped the HDD and did a clean install using the 'Windows Anytime Upgrade disk' included you will get that problem. It's because the key you have is for an OEM install and the supplied disk is non-OEM (great effort Acer). You are supposed to only reinstall using the restore partition hidden on your HDD or by using the restore DVD you created as soon as you got the laptop (yeah right ). Anyway, long story short, if you go through the Windows activation you will be able to get it properly validation (using the Phone method). I did exactly the same.

Didn't Pearl Jam boycott Ticketmaster venues because of their rip-off tactics? Didn't do their career much good, but if more than 1 artist did it, things could be different. Rise up and Revolt! Vive la Revolution! .... I might need to cut down on the coffee....

Make your e-recovery discs and don't do shit with the hidden partition. Mine's getting picked up today to be returned to acer (I took out the extended warranty - covers 'accidental' damage). I reckon if I dont get it sorted this time it's getting 'accidentally' dropped down the stairs or something. If you make your e-recovery discs could you do me a copy. I might be able to restore mine back to it's original state. I'll send some discs etc. It's a canny laptop when it's not causing problems. You say that as if I know what the fuck you are on about!!! At least I know now I got a good deal on mine if you paid 700 anyway!! Dare I say it.... read the manual that came with it. Acer want to charge me £50 for a set of restore discs even though I couldn't create them because of a faulty drive. I bought mine when they first arrived in the UK (Sept last year). I guess they have come down a bit since then.

Then do the smart thing and fuck vista off and install XP on it - it will run faster and generally be a better machine without the crap called vista on it. Paws, second thing you do is email Acer direct in Taiwan (their addy is on the acer web site), they don't like bad feedback and watch how quickly it gets repaired. It's a business machine and I have a licence agreement with Microsoft - all Vista stuff. One I buy a new desktop machine for the office I think I'll demote this laptop to presentation use. Seems crazy for a laptop I only bought 7months ago for over £700. As for the suggestion about emailing Taiwan - good call. I might just do that.

Wacky: Yes, I've tried looking on various torrent sites. Found one ideal torrent - no seeders. Left it trying to connect and nothing. Looks dead. Sma eone has been posted on several torrent sites. As for your 2nd link - that's not the one I need but I'm looking around the site to see if they do have something. Cheers Paws Update - No joy. THe link to the 5920 Vista recovery disk takes you to a page offering an XP recovery disk????

Laptops Direct I can't take it back to them however as their policy (supposedly dictated by Acer) is that outside 7 days all issues are dealt with by Acer. That's where I had to send it the first time. Laptops DIrect were no help at all. I got short shrift from some bint from yorkshire who got quite short with me when I tired to get them to take it back the first time. I'll never buy an Acer again and I'll never buy anything else form laptops direct as their customer services totally sucks. I've even tried unsubscribing from their mailing list 5 times now. Might email them and tell them they are in breach of European Law by not removing me.

Ok, this is a long shot but.... I have an Acer Aspire 5920G laptop with Vista Home Prem. When it first arrived I wasn't able to create the restore disks because the DVD drive would not recognise I had inserted a blank DVD. It went back to Acer and because of other issues with the machine (video card) they supposedly replaced the DVD drive and video card. They returned it after nearly 3 weeks (despite telling me it would only be 10 days) still with video problems. I couldn't return it to them straight away as it is my work PC and the only one I have for the office. Long story short, I've tried a Vista reinstall from the 'upgrade' disk that came with the PC. Turns out, this just does a clean install of Vista. That would be ok except I still have the same problems (after installing all the drivers and utils for my model from the Acer website). Trouble is, because it turned out to be a clean install (not what I expected), I no longer have access to a hidden partition (which I didn't know I had) which can restore the laptop back to factory settings. Acer want £50 to sort the hard drive despite the fact they originally said they'd send me a set of restore disks (when they returned my laptop) because I wasn't able to create them myself. Before I lose the will to live, does anyone work for Acer or has a recent Acer 3000 or 5000 series laptop. They apparently share the same disc image. I now cannot use the lcd display as the screen is permanently on the very lowest brightness setting (even though it's set to full). All I can see is a very faint picture. Laptop function keys no longer work. Managed to squint my way to setting up an external monitor in 'clone' mode so I have backed up my files. It's still under warranty and will be going back to Acer, I'd just rather send it back with factory default to give them one less thing to blame it on. I get the impression this will all be my fault if their original OS is not installed - even though the problems existed before I reinstalled. Worst.Laptop.Ever - and over the years I've had 7.

The thing that's disappointed me most is our inability to get back into the game. Villa were always going to come out strong in the 2nd half after they'd had a bollocking and the first 10-15 mins is always important. However, I would have expected us to have more of a go at them once they'd equalised. Villa kept the pressure on but we couldn't play our way out of trouble. The only thing our midfield can create is CO2 from all the huffing and puffing.
-
We were the better team in the first half but didn't do enough. Villa have come at us right from the start of the 2nd 45. We need to put the pressure back on them.
-
Bollocks. Who shoots then if you're not just trying to wind me up? Butt and the Zog. Maybe Milner. Certainly none of our strikers. To be fair, Villa have not given us the space in their half they did in the first 45. It's not as easy to just shoot I think.
-
Poor refereeing there. Didn't book Harewood on Taylor and booked Butt on Harewood. Harewood made a meal of Butt's slide.

fuck me 2:1

replay's show he slipped as he was halfway down. would have got it otherwise

Much better from us. We're starting to play with some confidence. Watching the setanta ports news with 'special one' puppet. haha

They have a huge fan base here in Australia. A mate from Melbourne that plays drums for a number of local bands raves about them. Swervedriver podcast from the dark stuff. http://thedarkstuff.podomatic.com/ Thanks for the link, although I'm not sure what it has to do with Airbourne I've listened to the album about 5/6 times now and I'm definitely liking it. I believe they did the 25th anniversary of Bon Scotts death recently and did it well. You can't get their EP over here though, which is a shame. Nothing, it's what I was listening to, the point of the thread. Now I'm listening to swervedriver - juggernaut's ride disc 1 Back to airbourne, ready to rock is impossible to get anywhere. Keep an eye on ebay or places like www.redeye.com.au if you really want it. Ah, my mistake. That went over my head - Guess that's what happens when you try to do too many things at once Gone form Hard Rock to Southern Rock (definitely coding my nuts off now) Black Crowes -Live soon to be followed by a couple off the 'Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes - Live at the Greek'

Another new discovery: Airbourne - A new Aussie rock band. Large double shot of AC/DC, tblspoon of 80's Metal and maybe a dash of Aerosmith. Shake it up and serve loud in either speakers or headphones. A little clichéd but definitely palatable. They play in Manchester tomorrow night and I can't get a ticket.

A couple of tracks I've found on youtube of The Stone Gods - the new band of some of the ex members of The Darkness. Liking it. Listening to an acoustic track and a proper rock track. If this is anything to go by they look to be versatile and should be more seriously taken than The Darkness. Dan is class

x1 x1 < +1 Mathstastic! To be fair like, Asprilla's right. x 1 with not increase the number of agreements. 1 x 1 =1 so if 2 people have already agreed the agreement count is 2. With me so far? Therefore: If someone adds x1 to a post indicating their agreement with the aforementioned post, 2 x 1 = 2. So the agreement count does not increase. However: If someone adds +1 to a post indicating their agreement with the aforementioned post, 2+1 = 3 and thus the agreement count has increased. Just thought I'd clear that up
