  1. Why on earth would you need to be doing a degree in physics, or already have a degree in physics, to answer that question? You'd be better off asking someone who marks this level of exam. What level is it? I'm guessing the combined science GCSE? Fwiw I would give you no marks because you're too vague on both counts. I have to agree with Renton. As someone who works with radiation those answers are far too vague and general. Had you said nuclear power and say sterilisation by irradiation then you'd be in with a shout.
  2. All of this USA vs England arguing is irrelevant. Australia will win this bid FOR SURE.
  3. Fuck off with the Pitchfork shit, this list begins and ends with Lateralus by Tool.
  4. This. One thousand times this. Mostly because I don't believe that there are two women out there that want a bit of the Fish.
  5. It's nice to know that the love is still there between us Luke. It makes me feel all tingly inside. But you are right, we've been pretty inconsistent, getting hammered by the Saffers at home then beating them in South Africa was like watching two different teams. I think we're a stronger test nation than we are one day which still has me optimistic for the Ashes. I am very happy that we're playing the test before the one day series this time out, mostly for morale. I think we'll lose any one day series against you, and if that was before the tests it'd be disastrous.
  6. Australia won't need five days boys so don't bother getting those tickets.
  7. Voted Geordies. Because Stevie's a Geordie and threads like this are boring as fuck.

    Iceland

I have been. Went to Reykjavik for five days in 07. I don't know how the financial stuff has really affected things, but back then it was VERY expensive, even more so than Scandinavia. I stayed in the only hostel in Reykjavik and it was noticeably cheaper than any hotel. The bus system is very good so you can get around town easily enough, and any of the bus trip that take to around the geysers and stuff will get you and drop you from the hostel. Very interesting place, especially if you're into history and Viking culture, but I really felt that five days was a little too long to be honest. I went before Christmas so it was icy and only had six hours of 'daylight' but if you're going soon you'll have a better time of it I expect. At that time of year a lot of roads across the island are closed because of snow so was restricted to time in Reykjavik and the local surrounds. The Icelanders are nutters when it comes to nights out. Pubs won't really start filling up til very late and they'll go all night. I'd recommend the whole thermal stuff, the blue lagoon, and take a tour to see the northern lights because the guides know where the best places to view them are and the timings and stuff. Just don't go for too long because you will run out of things to do unless you're going with a lot of your doctor money.
  9. Of course I'm going to advocate going to Australia instead. Do the working holiday, even though I bitch about England there is nothing better than experiencing life in a different country. But my advice is DO NOT FRUIT-PICK. It's really shitty work, shitty pay and for the most part it's in the arse end of nowhere. Some of these farms are huge and a little remote. Stick to the coasts. Forget America.

    Manc-Mag

Oi, Sam, I'm back living in your city. We finally gonna get that beer or what?
  11. You dickhead. If it wasn't for us how'd you know how shit you are at all sports? And I don't know what's more offensive, the fact that we're equal with the French (who are cunts) or that the Kiwis get a free pass on the Steviescale.
  12. Definitely. Add Kevin Muscat to the mix and we'd be unstoppable.
  13. To be fair the English are in the minority there. Walcott's really all there is these days yeah?
  14. While talking in the third person is incredibly douchy, I do agree with your suggestions. :-D
  15. It should be a bank holiday, pretty sure we have fewer than any other european country. There was talk of having a 'Trafalgar Day' bank hol in October to spred them out a bit more through the year but I guess that the thumbs down for potentially hurting the feelings of our continental cousins. British workers get just eight public holidays a year. Italians get 12 days, Austrians get 13 and Spain and Portugal have 14 public holidays a year. In Victoria there are 10. New Years Day Australia Day Labour Day Good Friday Easter Monday ANZAC Day Queen's Birthday Melbourne Cup Day Christmas Day Boxing Day Why Australia celebrates the Queen's Birthday and Britain doesn't I'll never understand. And a day off for a horse race is just awesome. I miss that.
  16. Ok, I'm asking this on here because in the past I've asked individuals this but no one seems to know. Why isn't St George's Day a public holiday? It seems a little sad in a way that you don't have a day to celebrate England. I love Australia Day, just a day to celebrate being Aussie and get drunk, the Kiwis I know feel the same about Waitangi Day, the Yanks obviously with Independence Day. It just seems like you're missing out in a way.
  17. The bottom three in the Championship are currently Barnsley, Southampton and Charlton. Barnsley were a one season wonder in the Prem sure, but they spent some time down in League One. Southampton were relegated in 2005 after 27 years in the Prem and Charlton were relegated in 2007. What worries me most isn't so much relegation, just the fact that coming straight back up, and then surviving, isn't a foregone conclusion.
  18. Tonight: Nothing. Stafford is boring as piss. Tomorrow: Flat-Hunting. I'm on the move again, back to Manchester. Looking for a flat as near to manc-mag as possible. He's got this unrequited love thing going on. Sunday: Nothing. Stafford is boring as piss.
  19. You should listen to him Danny, for Sammy knows a little something about being a sad individual.
  20. Yes he is. Three yellow cards to Josip Simunic in the World Cup demonstrated that.
  21. After my time in Manchester I hate City more than I do United, especially after their takeover. City fans are deluded idiots even worse than Danny. And what has all their money done for them? Fuck all.
  22. I feel for the Pakistani players in this. You have to think the ICC won't allow any series to go ahead in Pakistan for the foreseeable future meaning they can't play at home in such a passionate cricket country. Australia's series against them in a few months was already organised to take place in the UAE and they haven't played a match in Pakistan since 1998 due to security.
  23. I thought the exact same thing. Sam Rockwell was great, but only with the material he was given to work with. If I hadn't read the book a whole lot of the movie probably wouldn't have made sense as I found myself thinking back to the book to bridge the gaps. Some of the jokes were only half there as well meaning that they fell flat in the movie, Denny's rock obsession seemed tacked on in the movie for example. I'd love to know how much of the movie was cut out for a shorter running time.
  24. Unlike in your day during the Battle of Trafalgar, right Rob?
  25. As in the girl you sleep with and all is good for a week until she walks out on you breaking your heart again?
