I'm going to keep an eye on RAWK's thread for him but it's starting to pick up a few such posts now.

I can't speak for everyone else but I'm desperately clinging to any acknowledgement of truth by politicians at this point as being something worth celebrating
-
I genuinely do think politicians in this country are fearful of leadership. They react to things rather than dictate the flow. Labour could have come out a year ago and said Brexit was a total bollocks and is going to take time to fix, that they're respecting the position we're in was delivered by democratic vote but that doesn't mean that the outcomes are all amazing. But they'll do what they can while respecting the vote. What would that honestly have cost them, the daft little bellends? Reform voters have at precisely no point been seduced into voting for Labour, they have just wasted everyone's time in pandering to them, serving only to piss off their own voters in the process. Labour's "strategy" is pathetic. It is weak, lacking in vision, and entirely reactive. This country badly needs some actual fucking leadership. People who don't live in fucking fear of reality. I'd go so far as to say Labour would be polling higher now if they had just been honest from the start. They couldn't exactly be doing worse.

Dragged kicking and screaming to it, but finally reality shines down.

Seriously... who even cares man, he should want to be a good teammate and an admirable man, not some little fuckwit who has to game the system to beat all the records. I've never liked Kane which I've always struggled with a bit since he's so fucking beige in all aspects of his character that it's hard to put a finger on exactly why I don't like him - but this narcissism is probably a part of it. "In the absence of any positive character attributes, Harry Kane broke a bunch of irrelevant records for the national team during a period where England won fuck all". What a hero.
-
Totally this. Kane wants to immortalise himself at the expense of the team.

No, I get that, but I keep hearing this water thing anyway and it's one of those issues that I don't really trust the AI supported internet to be honest about
-
I've struggled with this for a while so will ask here at the risk of looking ignorant. Is this water thing with chatgpt actually an issue? Water is naturally recycled, its not like it is getting used up forever. That would suggest to me that if there is a threat on this front it would be about general availability and pricing, which could be reacted to at any point really and recovered from. We aren't using up this water and it's gone forever. What am I missing?

Aye, all of this stuff is just theatre. It has nothing to do with concern for the plebs dying on any side of it, the friction and violence it causes around the world, they couldn't care less. It's all a game played by psychopaths for their own outcomes and amusement.
-
Yep, there it is. That's the version of this that makes the most sense by far.

If he's playing 90 mins, he's fully fit - maybe even moreso than he ever was for us That narrative has to be used up by now.
-
The thing is though, you wouldn't get a detailed and specific plan like that just waiting for a chance mass armed raid. You would instead be instigating the raid. Why would you leave such a detailed and clearly important plan to the chance that the enemy hits you like that? If Israel really did know then IMO Hamas are at this point an Israeli asset and have been for some time. On that basis I prefer the idea that they didn't know. Incompetence is a much preferable view.

I love how they give him that moment at the end of the game where he's somehow massacred all of those darkspawn though. Is Sandal the most powerful being in the universe? Maybe.

Indeed, we now have gender fluid Qunari in their most recent one

Trump has proven that the markets barely care what happens and will rally irrespective.

If there is any sort of a thing as hell, Watkins will be in it.

It's not like there wouldn't be a way if the will was there. And personally, if it came to 'capital flight' I'd just seize whatever they can't take with them. People need to understand that the obscene wealth some people have isn't earned, it's stolen through being able to play a fucking mental system very well AND having been born with enough money to do so. Either we find a way to peg them back, or we are all going to be struggling a lot more than we already are as the middle classes are completely annihilated. We can't just pragmatically sit there and wring our hands about this anymore, or the snapping point won't be a wealth tax, it'll be riots in the streets.
-
Indeed, really sorry to hear of this. Stuff like this always makes me think how fleeting life is... Condolences for the loss man.

I hope so because we're now committed into the content production part so are incurring costs against it. If we don't get it in the end, we'll end up out of pocket for about half the amount. I do think it will come back on the table but part of the challenge is that the funding had to be assigned this year and we had to complete content production before 2026 as part of that. Now half the contributors aren't working which does rather complicate things. I hope it just lasts a week or so...

So I ended up buying that business with my partner - academic publisher same as always. And the first new book project we got was funded by the Smithsonian, $30k to publish it and then sales after the fact. We were pretty excited - right up until the federal government shutdown pulled all their funding and has effectively sent half their staff home. Fuck you very much, GOP!

With any luck the issue is that he's mentally 'injured' himself tbh. Being at the top of the game must require a fairly constant level of emotional balance and he's likely annihilated any zen he had over the course of the summer in the way he humiliated himself throughout.
-
Completely agree with this tbh. I have friends who genuinely thought Dubs was the better keeper, and while I do rate the guy I remember I was always panicking when he had to do anything compared to Pope.
-
What in the hell is wrong with people man.
-
We've now reached this stage of the governmental term. Parody videos.

I agree actually, I'm not totally clear on what it is he's meant to do 'well' other than being a fairly standard striker.
