Aye, not sure anyone will miss Arteta. Arsenal are such a weird team, it feels like they let their desire for some sort of methodological purity get the better of their desire to win. No matter what they're doing, what style they're playing, they're rigid as fuck with it.
-
You guys Delhi-ght in this stuff too much.
-
No one seriously expects you guys to miss out Also you're somehow not as enjoyable a scalp for that as Chelsea, Forest or Villa, at least to my eyes.
-
That would be a pretty solid run in during times gone past as well I think we'll get over the line in the end but I have this nagging concern that if we struggle against Chelsea then it'll energise Forest.
-
I assume you mean CL football...? I was just picking up a typo but your commitment to it makes me now think if my whole universe is back to front. The very fabric of my reality is challenged.
-
I think we can say that Liverpool are guaranteed PL football for the foreseeable future mind
-
This is exactly my view of it too. If we beat Chelsea then we're pretty much there, if we lose then we're pretty much done. I'm not even sure a draw helps tbh as I don't see Villa fucking up the home stretch. I honestly would be surprised if we don't manage this though - we are a good team. We are a better team than Chelsea ffs, albeit Joelinton is a miss.
-
Arsenal supposedly have 160m to spend. Supposedly. That's their entire budget though. Chelsea could probably sell themselves to themselves or something. That's all I've got. I don't think he's leaving this summer.
-
Also agree, CL qualification makes a big difference for us and falling into the Europa League gives us all the burdens of European competition with a fraction of the financial benefits. The only caveat is I could see us winning the EL, which would be pretty special.
-
My old man is an Everton supporter and he claims that Pickford is much better now for this - don't think we can rely on that. He would also love to deny us CL football btw, I doubt there's going to be anyone anywhere as motivated against us reaching the CL as Pickford.
-
Palace looked really good against Villa in the cup, so I am hopeful they can get something tonight.
-
If we don't win this it's over. In my opinion there's no reason we can't, even though our form has been a little off we were still comfortably better than Brighton and this game we'll be at home. Hopefully the fans are well up for it. The positive is Chelsea are a "traditional big team", and our players seem to turn up for that sort of shit. Should also help us against Arsenal.

https://news.sky.com/story/politics-latest-local-elections-labour-reform-starmer-farage-tories-lib-dems-greens-12593360 Labour MPs "dismayed, disheartened and shocked" by election results. How on earth are they shocked? Are politicians even living on the same planet as the rest of us ffs.

Their support is absolutely shite man. It has been for years, there is absolutely no defending it

We have now established between the mods that Quiff has been signing up and being banned from TT for about 17 years I am actually staggered by that.
-
Is his point maybe that they haven't been celebrating it in the US? So they didn't have those names at all? That's how I read it. I don't actually mind it too much if it is that, no reason they shouldn't be allowed to recognise that day really.

I have actually occasionally thought about this, since this place seems to be a lifetime commitment. I think it'd be very sad, but I'd be grateful for the shared experience over the years. Besides, I'm sure I'd not be long on anyone's heels, almost 40 myself now.
-
We've nailed the bust part at least. All time world champions at this point IMO.
-
I do occasionally wonder what the average age in here must be 48? ish?
-
You mean like left wing populism? Or I suppose in Starmer's case it would be sort of like... populism of competence
-
This is a fair point mind - do we need Labour to start acknowledging Reform as the opposition so they can gun for Farage more directly?
-
I broadly agree with a lot of this although it's a bit of a hail mary for Labour to go 'we'll look competent and then hope the economic situation improves' as their strategy for retaining power. I'd prefer them to have a bit more about them than that. We need a longer term pivot away from the culture war.
