I’ve been working on a new high rise block in Manchester recently, it’s taken nearly 2 years and we don’t have a finalised design yet. I assume (having never worked on one) that both training grounds and football stadiums are a lot more complex than 78 flats, so might take a little longer?

I think he is a decent enough player but he doesn’t have any standout attributes for me, being able to play in so many positions has probably done him a disservice cos I don’t know what kind of player he is. Obviously I would like him to stay and improve here but needs must and he unfortunately one of our weaker midfielders, where we have the most other players, who someone is will to pay for.

Mould isn’t usually that big of a deal, it’s caused by warm/damp. So look for obvious issues like leaks (your plumber will find these), leaking gutters etc. Otherwise you are doing the right thing, a lot of damp is caused by lifestyle issues (heating on, windows closed, drying clothes in doors). The worst option would be either a version of rising damp (no/failed DPC for example), this can be expensive to fix but your surveyor should definitely have picked this up and you will be able to claim on their RICS insurance against them not spotting it

I work in that sector, and there are numerous large issues with trying to build social housing under the current government but budget cuts year after year are certainly the biggest along with under staffed planning departments taking 9-12 months to approve ALL applications in our area for housing that is desperately needed.

Well I don’t have kids and paid the mortgage off earlier this year. Our lass works is a lecturer at a uni, there are massive lay offs. I could probably work for someone 3 days a week remotely and earn enough to keep us in beer tokens. So I could sell the house buy something smaller and put the excess into an investment. I spend hours a day looking at knackered old buildings with a couple of acres thinking how I would do them up. More likely that we end up moving back near fucking Middlesbrough to look after my mam as she gets older, which is quite depressing.

To people around my age (40ish). How often do you day dream of selling everything you own and buying a little house with some land in the middle of nowhere and keeping some animals? I think I might be having a little midlife crisis
