Also there are cardboard placards with QR links to Wikipedia. What the fuck more do you want?

You could have at least popped into Valerie's at Uranus you lazy fuck.

Listen you fucking bunch of ingrates and ignoramuses. It's a pop up crowd funded thing purely intended to show the scale of the solar system. If it is successful there are plans to make a permanent display with bronze cast sculptures on pedestals like this one in Melbourne. Supposed to be quite mind blowing that is the sun were the scale of the alorange thing pluto would be at St Mary's lighthouse the size of lentil. Not much chance of that happening with these attitudes. But aye, this attempt is a bit underwhelming. I need to sell this to my kids tomorrow.

I actually admire the MLF's in a way. Can you imagine if this was your list of the 5 most talented players at your club in the past 25 years? Seriously, I'd probably switch sports.

Well we won't be able to rejoing the SM straight away that's for certain. However, I think we will halt dergulation and gradually reverse it to align with the EU again. What are the tories in opposition going to do about it? Wail about giving workers their rights back, regulating rivers again so shit isn't directly pumped into them? Not to mention you have to measure Labour gainst the counterfactual, 5 more years of conservative government. So aye, I think Labour will improve the economy by improving realtionships and trade with the EU and there isn't anything the Brexiters can do about it.

Andrea Jenkins and Badenoch here man, obsessing over how many regulations we have retained from the EU. It would be funny if it were not for the fact the 600 regulations they have scrapped so far have all been done to downgrade workers' rights and envrionmental protections.

All this Hester stuff has got me thinking about the abuse Abbot has received over her career (including for inside the Labour party) and the justification for her losing the whip. She lost the whip for the letter below, despite making a proper apology for it. Seems insane to throw her out over this, it's not remotely anti-semitic or racist in my view. She makes a good point, albeit clumsily, which I do wonder about today. Losts of talk about jewish people being unable to to go out in public in London which is terrible but surely it only affects the more fundamental jewish people who wear traditional clothing, skull caps, or stars of David? How else would you know if someone is jewish or not? And surely most jewish people are quite secular, probably moreso than muslims who more often wear ethnic clothing? Maybe its sematics, but if your skin is black, you have certain racial features, that is an instantly recognisable intrinsic part of you for people to target. That is prejudice based on race. It may be true for some jewish and arabic (muslim) people but not all. I think tha's the point she is making and it just seems people have screamed at her, banned her, and thrown the baby out with the bathwater here. I think she should have the whip reinstated if Labour want to be seen as an inclusive party.

Aye, basically. Oh, and the racist cunt probably has access to your medical records.

Heads up to anyone who's interested. There's a "to scale" solar system trail on the coast being held this weekend. Think the sun and the inner solar system will be on longsands with Neptune and Pluto as far away as St Mary's lighthouse. For reference, if the sun is the size of a football, on this scale the next nearest star, Proxima Centauri, would be in Chicago. It's a nice walk although the weather is probably going to be shit. They have a permanent one in Melbourne and I'm hoping they will make a permanent version of this too. https://northtynesidesolartrail.co.uk/

That's not really true tbh. The main reason cancer incidence has gone up (and 50:50 is correct) is because we're living to be older and not dying of other things first. I just make the point because otherwise it contributes to the belief people have contributed to their illness through lifestyle choice, or worse, some conspiracy nonsense, neither of which is helpful. 👍

Why do I listern to this cunt circus every week? It really makes me despair that this is the best the country has to offer, and this seems to be true for all the anglophone countries.

Latest plan is to PAY asylum seekers to go to Rwanda. I mean, how can this now be called a deterrent? If anything, it will become an incentive (especially as it has been confirmed Rwanda will let them leave at any time they like). And then of course we still pay Rwanda an additional sum, thought to be in seven figures. Genius.

Sorry to hear that Gloom, do your best for your wife who will take it hardest. Know so many people who have developed various forms of this horrible disease cancer as we all get older. Waiting to see whther my FiL's colon cancer is treatable right now, but even if it is, the treatment is horrendous.

Returned.

This Hester bloke sounds horrific. Like I said last week I think, the tories literally cannot go a full week without some other shit show happening. This is particularly bad for them because it comes after Sunak's ridiculous extremism speech, they can't afford to neutralise it by returning the money, and it draws attention to the rank corruption of tax payer cash and honours for donation paybacks.

Or not vote at all of course.
-
I dunno. Haley showed there are a sizable proportion of Republican "Never Trumpers" and apparently most independents aren't keen. Whether Biden can get his vote out is another matter too I guess. I'm no expert, all the news I hear from the States is partisan and I may be in an echo chamber. But I am just hoping that, when it comes down to it, most Americans will value their democracy above everything else.

True, but is he spends all the fund raising on legal fees, it's not going to help his election campaign. The rallies and Truth Media propaganda etc aren't going to help, its preaching to the converted.

I just got the same leaflet delivered from my friendly local conservative councillor cunts. I thought the mention of Corbyn was weird. Hopefully a few round my way will think "Oh yeah, Labour have a sensible leader now, let's give them a try". Then they can remind themselves why Boris Johnson is no longer the conservative option and try to think who the hell Jo Swinson was. Anyway, I'm filling it in and returning it, costs them money.

I agree with this and Isegrim's post entirely, except that I don't agree we all thought it was repeatable, a fall in league place was always expected by me and several others. We've had some bad luck this season undoubtedly. Insanely bad cup draws. Tonali. Injuries (although for me I don't think this is all luck). We've never had a chance to get into a rhythm, it's been stop start all years. Some noticeable highs, like Villa x2, Carabao cup run, Arsenal home. Some lows too, the worst for me being Forest at home. My biggest concern over Howe is his perceived lack of flexibility on how he sets us out or changes things within matches. And I agree we have lost our intensity and shithousing edge somewhere along the line. But given the luck we've had, I would give him at least the whole of next season before I would even question his position. Who else are we realistically going to get? Perhaps Howe needs some additional support, I'd be open to options, but to talk about replacing him is ridiculous. We're gonna lose on Saturday, so forget that. Hopefully we can pick it up from there onwards and do our best the remainder of the season - think he said yesterday that was the plan. Next season I am certain will be better.
