Well, these are HMG figures following assessment of these refugees. I'm curious what actual data you have to the contrary? Maybe you should inform the home office on the true figures.

Well clearly at the very least Brexit hasn't helped. Almost certainly made it worse in fact because of our deteriorating relationship with the French and our refusal to participate in Dublin 2 agreement. Also I think there has been a clamp down on people smuggling in lorries which has displaced them onto the open sea. As well as ongoing geopolitical problems in areas of Asia, Europe and Africa. Another mate (pharmacist) accidentally mailed a lewd joke to the entire NHS Trust. He was demoted and it effectively ended his NHS career.

A while back when working in the NHS I used to communicate with a mate I'd once worked with via NHS mail. One slow day for both us we were reminiscing about a mutual female acquaintance who happened to work at his place then. We couldn't remember her name so he found it on his mailing list. We exchanged some frankly quite shameful emails but then I realised he had cced her in whilst looking at the mailing list! He rushed off to find her and apologise in person and thank fuck she was okay about it because that was definitely a sacking offence for him and a disciplinary for me. Learned my lesson to never be disrespectful behind another person's back and absolutely NEVER use work email for personal use. What a fucking pair of idiots we were. But at least we weren't deseminating official secrets so guess it was okay really.

Well I'm all ears what better place would placate my 9 year old. Some hidden gem selling English tapas and Chardonnay with frozen grapes in it? Every time a local suggests somewhere off the beaten track you end up somewhere just as shit as at home. Better than a fuckin M&M superstore though obviously.

Had a long weekend in London with the family. Nothing too crazy, but reckon all in its cost more than a grand which is depressing. This is for standard class trains booked in advance, a Premier Inn in the city, a west end show in cheap seats (Frozen), visit to Kew Gardens and British Science museum, and one "posh" meal at 22 Fenchurch Street (Sky Garden bistro). I mean it's been good if bit knackering but surely these types of breaks are now becoming out of reach for many of us when you have to contend with stagnant wages, huge inflation, and mortgages going up? Kids need fed regularly and a light lunch costs 30 quid in all the venues. And yeah, the museums are technically free but the exhibits are upwards of 70 quid for family tickets! Doubt we'll be back for a while unfortunately.
