  1. Yes, I'd go along with that. Two years of Johnson is preferable to seven years of Sunak. I honestly believe though the tories have almost no chance of returning a majority after a GE now. And their best chance, although remote, would be under Johnson in any case, because he'll stop at nothing to ensure it, including committing British troups to Ukraine if he thought it would help (as an example).
  2. I'm worried about people's lives too, including people I know and dare I say it people on here. But these things aren't mutually exclusive. If we don't have strong institutions and democracy, peoples' leves can't be improved.
  3. The all had their role, and anyone of them could have changed the outcome. But only one of them benefitted from it.
  4. I've never had complete trust in the political process in this country, which is an archaic joke based on unwritten rules in the main. But it's degraded more in the past decade, especially post-Brexit, than ever before. Culminating in an absolute shit show in Johnson as PM. For me, there is a clear qualitative difference in what Johnson and Cummings did compared with his predecessors. Even before he was PM, he was the main reason for the Leave vote.
  5. I might add I am probably nearer someone like Stewart on the political spectrum than someone like Corbyn. And at least he advocates constitutional reform.
  6. Complete strawman, nobody is saying "normal" tories are acceptable people. Even the most decent ones which were expelled, like Nicky Morgan, Anna Soubry, and Rory Stewart, I still viscerally think "cunt" when their names are mentioned. But that's not to recognise that Johnson is a bigger cunt, a bigger threat. It's like saying all Republicans in the US are as bad as Trump. Actually come to think of it, there is a case for that over there, but you know what I mean. Nobody has debased politics in this country like Johnson has, surely that is glaringly obvious?
  7. Honestly, after the allegations on your own behaviour (taxigate), I don't know how you have the nerve. Ever considered a career in politics?
  8. This is another version of "they're all the same". I disagree. Johnson systematically has attacked or currupted all our institions in government, including the system of democracy itself. I don't recall Cameron or May doing this, and I don't think Sunak would. Anyway, one thing is for certain, I get no say in this. Best I just put my headphones on and listen to music rather than the utter bullshit on the radio.
  9. He shouldn't be allowed to stand.
  10. It's not though is it? He won't lose his seat because he will change the rules. He'll rip up every institution from within. He's too dangerous to be given the chance to do this.
  11. Why have we also forgotten that next month he might be found to be in contempt of Parliament and actually lose his seat? Because you know what will happen if he is PM? He will subvert the process and stay on as PM, of course.
  12. Honestly man, the country is truly fucked. I can't remotely enjoy yhe ride. Listening to R5 now, he got Brexit done, best vaccine roll out in Europe, blah, blah. AGAIN. I thought we'd seen the end of this shit.
  13. The veteran Tory MP Sir Christopher Chope says he’s “really excited” about the prospect of Boris Johnson “riding to the rescue of the country”. Can't believe people want this bullshit. I've had my fill.
  14. Tehn I'm going to break the habit of a lifetime and agree with Fish. Get a smart LED bulb and turn your landing into a disco.
  15. It costs 0.1 PENCE to run a 60W LED bulb for an hour. Typical accountant, counting the pennies and ignoring the thousands of pounds your divorce will cost you.
  16. Absolutely not. The only thing I'd like Johnson to swing on is a fucking noose. I absolutely detest the cunt and don't want him anywhere near the PM job.
  17. This is true. But Johgnson will also continue to fuck things up also, there will be no clean sheet. Also curious to how the markets will react. Part of Johnson's appeal last time was that he spent a fortune on furlough etc. I think he will be much less appealing in atmosphere of extreme austerity.
  18. But Sunak and Mordaunt both know the biggest risk is Johnson getting to 100, then it's curtains for them. My question is how they can reliably do the calculations in this short time frame. I think Johnson will get 100 like as they'd think he's the red wallers last hope. He isn't obviously. I also do think he might precipitate a GE pretty quickly. So many tories in the parliamentary hate him.
  19. There is almost 0% of the tories winning an election now, seriously, relax about it. The only thing that is left is the size of their majority and in reality I think a small majority might be a good thing, might focus minds on the enemy more and require them to align more with minority progressive parties. But the main thing is, I personally just can't abide the thought of watching that cunt Johnson as PM for 2 years. I find Mordaunt and Sunak put me off me tea less.
  20. The tories have shown it's not the size of th emajority that counts, its what you do with it. Which is why I'm so pissed off Labour won't take this golden opportunity to bring in constitutional reform and PR and stop this shit happening once and for all.
  21. This was my point to Gloom. They have been playing endless "Bring Back Boris" vox pops almost to the exclusion of anything else, certainly to the 86% of the country who won't vote tory accroding to that latest poll. I'm trying to work out why they are doing this, but Gloom isn't playing ball any more.
  22. Can you list these "moderates"? I can't think of any. Sunak and Hunt are technocrats, but they are far, far to the on the right on the overton window. But the key difference between these and Johnson is that they do not seek to destroy the institutions of the UK in the way he does. They are also relatively honest in their approach. I think you're almost falling into the "they're all the same" trap. That's bullshit, Johnson is our Trump. Labour will comfortably beat any of these candidates, I have 100% confidence in that, but Johnson will degrade and defile politics further given the chance, making it much harder for Labour to reverse the damage. I can't accept this is a good thing.
  23. The last thing I want to see on my TV screen for the next 2 years is that gurning cunt spouting his bumbling lies over and over again. He'll rip the country apart and I'll lose my sanity.
