  1. No. They’ve been a nomadic club to say the least but they’re doing a ground share with Morpeth Town at present. It’s about 15 mile from West Allotment (ie the actual village). When I was young and watched a bit of the northern alliance they played for years at Backworth Welfare (where the golf club is). Then they ground-shared with Whitley Bay. Then they played at Blue Flames (next to the current NUFC training ground). Then they moved to where the old Newcastle Blue Star used to play (ie next to the airport. Then they had maybe one season at Benfield before going to Palmersville where Forest Hall play. They’ve been going for about 100 years but it’s decades since they were actually based in West Allotment. I just find it a really weird set up. Like how you supposed to get a bit of a local fanbase going?
  2. Btw, without Googling, any idea where West Allotment Celtic are currently playing their home games?
  3. Biggest problem this season in the league and today is not taking our chances tbh. Fuck all to do with the system
  4. The funny thing about Slot blaming what happened over the summer on how Isak is playing is that Liverpool were perfectly happy to sign him after he behaved that way. It probably has impacted his sharpness, form, fitness, etc but what the fuck did they expect? That’s before you get into what it says about the player’s character. And that Liverpool instigated the whole thing by tapping him up then making a bid they knew was unlikely to be accepted. Then they waited until the last day of the window to make a more acceptable offer.
  5. Fucking magic. A bit like Ami Stewart with Knock on Wood they took a Soul classic, or classics in this case, and put a whole different spin on them. Good one for when you’re DJing and need to go for a pint / piss / spliff too. Or so I’ve heard
  6. When you mention they’re Dutch the ‘arrogant’ bit is superfluous
  7. A club should be absolutely cattled for the foreseeable if they spend this sort of a fee on a player and he flops massively. Obviously it’s a long way from that at this point but they’ll probably just flog him to Saudi Arabia and recoup most of their money even if that does happen.
  8. Thought about this a bit and thought it was wrong of Starmer / 10 to get involved. As it happens they aren’t coming anyway so there was no decision to overturn. Bug it should’ve been a decision made on the risk involved. By wading in he set a precedent but also would’ve had to own it if anything terrible happened in and/or around the match. He sort of got away with it when the club decided they wouldn’t take any away tickets but it’s still allowed for the politicisation of the situation. As an aside I bet the police is fucking rammed with Farage / Reform supporters. Even if they weren’t like that when they joined up
  9. He was a winger recently converted to a more central role
  10. Very good all round performance. When you think about the players still missing and those who didn’t start it’s pretty encouraging for the rest of the campaign. Could’ve easily been 5 or 6 - nil. I thought Bruno got better and better as the game went on and Gordon was excellent throughout. Some great goals with Pope’s assist and Barnes’ superb finish from it pretty much killing Benfica off. And as we won quite comfortably I won’t mention the ref, except to say he was fucking diabolical. Or VAR, except to ask what is the actual point in even having it?
  11. Who was he playing? The blind school?
  12. Sorry for your loss @RobinRobin Like others have said it’s perfectly understandable to feel the way you do about this. And I think it can only be a good thing that you were more in touch with your father in recent times.
  13. He just does it to wind up Keith and Roker Mackem
  14. It’s another round of Champions League games today. And whilst Liverpool don’t play today and didn’t play yesterday either, the BBC Sports app homepage with its main headline knows what’s on everyone’s mind this morning.
  15. I wouldn’t be surprised as I caught a bit of his post match interview on the radio and the first thing he said was about Man Utd hoofing everything long or words to that effect.
  16. I know a lot of this is hearsay etc but I was talking to someone recently who reckoned Isak couldn’t consistently press with the intensity Howe wanted. That’s not to say Howe wanted rid or anything as Isak clearly has other qualities and getting Wissa in would’ve allowed Isak to play less and not to have to play the full 90 so much. It’s a mate of my dad’s whose son is a coach at the academy like so it’s not exactly straight from the horse’s mouth. I think a lot of it re: Isak’s current form is a lack of confidence plus the pressure of the fee. The team look quite disjointed in general and he’s also got a very similar type of player competing for the same spot. He’s brought loads of it on himself so fuck the rat cunt and long may it continue. He could’ve almost certainly still got a move under completely different circumstances.
  17. Just pottering around with it on in the background and John Champion and Stephen Warnock on R5 are so pro-Liverpool it’s untrue. Edit: John Murray I mean. And there’s Chris Sutton so it’s off
  18. Looks like it’s time to stop talking about Isak. Again
