  1. His Sheff Wed stint btw. Delayed by a month so he could watch England play cricket in the Caribbean. Which was apparently because his parents had died the previous year or because he’d had an operation. Obviously the former is tragic but the cynic in he suggests he was simply trying it on. He repaid that by leaving them that summer the moment he got a better offer. Which, unfortunately, was us.
  2. Perspective does not a Daily Mail journalist make
  3. It was more that he came with a poor fitness record and then proceeded to be unavailable most of the time and still got extended. I might have misremembered it but wasn’t he (seemingly) constantly two weeks away from full fitness?
  4. And gave Carroll a deal then extended it even though he’d done fuck all to suggest he could still do a job
  5. His punditry is abysmal but this is a subject where he knows what he’s talking about.
  6. He got a pretty easy ride as well. Which didn’t stop his knacker son trawling social media looking for fights. Steve Bruce then used that as evidence for all the shit him and his family had to put up with. Despite, according to him, only learning about it second hand. Like you say, a strange bloke. I’m glad it bothers him though, no wonder he got on with the equally thin-skinned Mike Ashley
  7. Tbf though he really got the most out of the £40m signing Joelinton
  8. Not clicking on it. Fuck giving them hits for giving that knacker a platform to talk shite (again)
  9. You can fucking guarantee Sunak has no idea what it’s trying to say either
  10. Aye, that’s what I was thinking. In bed with organisations actually looking to protect workers rights whilst improving pay and conditions vs receiving vast sums of money from those looking to trash that.
  11. I suppose the flip side is (assuming the other midfielders stay) that we can let him go without necessarily needing that upgrade straight away without CL football next season. We’re not bad off for midfielders with the emergence of Miley and Tonali next year. We need a striker even if Wilson stays though
  12. I feel both intrigued and relieved that I missed something MF deemed to be unsuitable content for on here
  13. Of course but there’s no reason to think we wouldn’t. If you look at the prices paid and the quality of those we’ve brought in since the regime change. I do think Longstaff is a good player though. And one being harshly judged by having to do a job whilst carrying an injury because of the depleted squad. I also think Tonali is / was meant to be that upgrade
  14. If you look at the Ashley-era players then you have Schar, Joelinton and Willock who are at the required standard for a Champions League squad. There’s a question mark against the latter because of the recurring injuries and Joelinton only has a year on his contract so I’m not saying they can’t be sold either. But, discounting those academy players who’ve recently come through the ranks for now, I think a decent bid for any other Ashley-era player and the club would be keen to let them go. It’s a shame if it’s a local lad because I think there’s a lot to be said for a core of them at any club. I’m also not saying we’re currently ‘too good’ for a player like Longstaff. But if the money is right and you can persuade him to go then you move him on, as the deal might not happen another 6 months or year down the line, for any number of reasons. That’s just the reality of the situation imo. No room for sentiment (that’s for us fans).
  15. I think that’s about the size of it. I suppose if you accept that it happened by accident to someone completely out of their depth then it’s not much of a stretch to then think they’d have no idea how to behave at this point. So they’re effectively doing nothing until some predetermined date in July when they call an autumn election. I think they reason that this charade is marginally less humiliating then walking away before the GE
  16. Well you’re talking about someone who has made millions and millions of pounds purely off getting binned early for doing a series shit jobs. The second half of his career being especially bad. Yet is also so fucking greedy he’s a slum landlord. And like HMHM says, even then he plays the hard done to victim every time he opens his mouth
  17. Aye. Just ignore the fact he did the square root if fuck all to generate income. One fat fraud defending another.
  18. Is the next masterstroke an attempt to buy Saka, Bellingham, Foden and Kane?
  19. Ive never really watched Taskmaster. I quite like only connect though. And she comes across well I think when I’ve seen her on panel shows. But the scripted ‘comedy’ stuff on only connect is genuinely painfully cringeworthy
  20. Which in turn seemed to be a Papa Lazarou impression
  21. It’s scary enough that he used to be a teacher tbh. Also, imagine being in that profession and thinking the Tories are the answer
  22. I quite like her but when she’s presenting on that show the lines she delivers are so forced it’s painful to watch a lot of the time
  23. All part of the model 👍🏻
  24. These FFP regulations seem to have either fucked or hampered almost everyone bar the one club they were originally aimed at, ie Man City.
