  1. Mate, I’m not exactly thrilled with the state of UK politics, or the world in general. But Labour giving the Tories a right fucking shoeing at the next general election is a definite positive in my view. I don’t know where we’re headed off the back of that but it’s got to be better than the alternative.
  2. What platform? People are going on like they’ve announced a programme of Reaganomics. Their platform is doing things differently to the Tories and improving people’s lives in the process. They’ll be judged on that. Not promises they make 6 months before an election or empty statements about Gaza or whatever else the Corbyn won the argument twats are obsessing over
  3. News just in that Owen Jones plans to follow his announcement up with a hard hitting leaflet campaign
  4. If there’s anything to campaign for it’s electoral reform. Possibly a hopeless cause but not as hopeless as voting for greens or independents in the next election. In the vast majority of constituencies at least
  5. Well half the article is an attempt to shoot down the obvious criticisms (like the imminent landslide victory for Labour). Which just had the opposite effect tbh.
  6. Yeah, I respect that view but the timing? Just fuck off, you tedious cunt Him, not you
  7. If he was genuine he’d go into politics properly instead of criticising Labour via various media outlets. I think he was genuine initially but he’s just another grifter and has been for a while
  8. I would imagine it’s because they’re so far ahead in the polls too.
  9. I think it must be very difficult in the vast majority of cases to find the courage to go to your doctor and say that. Or even talk about it general. But I wish to fuck that more people would do it. And I am so glad that it is a lot easier and more acceptable than it ever used to be. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot more progress to make. I fucking despise these cunts. The sooner they’re out of power the better
  10. His Sheff Wed stint btw. Delayed by a month so he could watch England play cricket in the Caribbean. Which was apparently because his parents had died the previous year or because he’d had an operation. Obviously the former is tragic but the cynic in he suggests he was simply trying it on. He repaid that by leaving them that summer the moment he got a better offer. Which, unfortunately, was us.
  11. Perspective does not a Daily Mail journalist make
  12. It was more that he came with a poor fitness record and then proceeded to be unavailable most of the time and still got extended. I might have misremembered it but wasn’t he (seemingly) constantly two weeks away from full fitness?
  13. And gave Carroll a deal then extended it even though he’d done fuck all to suggest he could still do a job
  14. His punditry is abysmal but this is a subject where he knows what he’s talking about.
  15. He got a pretty easy ride as well. Which didn’t stop his knacker son trawling social media looking for fights. Steve Bruce then used that as evidence for all the shit him and his family had to put up with. Despite, according to him, only learning about it second hand. Like you say, a strange bloke. I’m glad it bothers him though, no wonder he got on with the equally thin-skinned Mike Ashley
  16. Tbf though he really got the most out of the £40m signing Joelinton
  17. Not clicking on it. Fuck giving them hits for giving that knacker a platform to talk shite (again)
  18. You can fucking guarantee Sunak has no idea what it’s trying to say either
  19. Aye, that’s what I was thinking. In bed with organisations actually looking to protect workers rights whilst improving pay and conditions vs receiving vast sums of money from those looking to trash that.
  20. I suppose the flip side is (assuming the other midfielders stay) that we can let him go without necessarily needing that upgrade straight away without CL football next season. We’re not bad off for midfielders with the emergence of Miley and Tonali next year. We need a striker even if Wilson stays though
  21. I feel both intrigued and relieved that I missed something MF deemed to be unsuitable content for on here
  22. Of course but there’s no reason to think we wouldn’t. If you look at the prices paid and the quality of those we’ve brought in since the regime change. I do think Longstaff is a good player though. And one being harshly judged by having to do a job whilst carrying an injury because of the depleted squad. I also think Tonali is / was meant to be that upgrade
  23. If you look at the Ashley-era players then you have Schar, Joelinton and Willock who are at the required standard for a Champions League squad. There’s a question mark against the latter because of the recurring injuries and Joelinton only has a year on his contract so I’m not saying they can’t be sold either. But, discounting those academy players who’ve recently come through the ranks for now, I think a decent bid for any other Ashley-era player and the club would be keen to let them go. It’s a shame if it’s a local lad because I think there’s a lot to be said for a core of them at any club. I’m also not saying we’re currently ‘too good’ for a player like Longstaff. But if the money is right and you can persuade him to go then you move him on, as the deal might not happen another 6 months or year down the line, for any number of reasons. That’s just the reality of the situation imo. No room for sentiment (that’s for us fans).
