  1. Today he feels Palestinian. Today he feels Israeli
  2. Aye, it’s a bit harsh. On fascists.
  3. I don’t mean this to offend anyone and it’s not meant to support / excuse Hamas’ actions at all. But talk of the UK offering military support to Israel in this conflict makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I’m not sure if that’s still on the table but it was being discussed in the last couple of days
  4. If that’s the case it’s probably even more straightforward than that. Even two friends betting with each other over a game of cards is illegal in Italy due to their strict gambling laws. So that would be a criminal matter likely resulting in a fine. The footballing authorities wouldn’t get involved you’d think (except perhaps for some sanction over something like bringing the game into disrepute should he return to an Italian team)
  5. I think he meant Trump. G&T is a bit of a fan of his iirc
  6. What the fucking beep is this cunt on about now?
  7. Scroll to 54 seconds in to see Tonali on the team coach
  8. https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/jimmy-savile-janet-street-porter-steve-coogan-b2428320.html?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=Feed At least she now knows how everyone else feels
  9. Wouldn’t we claim on the insurance if it came to his not being able to play for us?
  10. If we had the sort of military advantage that the Israeli have, I think you would see something similar. With overwhelming public support too. Without even getting into the rights and wrongs I think that’s what would happen
  11. I think it might’ve been Billy Furious who was on about how they bang on about football not being invented in 1992. But they’re the ones who moved to a flat pack stadium (for which they couldn’t even come up with an original name), had a huge influx of extra fans in the 90s and even, as per the article, had to hold a vote for a nickname, such was their lack of identity*. *Some things never change
  12. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/oct/09/israel-hamas-war-premier-league-football-geopolitics-saudi-arabia?utm_term=6524cc54e547fe61b952975b2166eac7&utm_campaign=GuardianTodayUK&utm_source=esp&utm_medium=Email&CMP=GTUK_email What a cunt, using this to push his agenda
  13. When he was supposedly fronting a Sunderland bid two things were clear. He didn’t have the money. And any group that had that sort of money would be unlikely to get someone like him to front a bid.
  14. I mean what do you get out of being behind a ‘premium’ beef jerky brand that you can’t buy anywhere? I don’t think there’s much point trying to apply any logic to his motivation. He’s not well
  15. Because they couldn’t fulfil that big an order
  16. The review also complained about there being ‘nee mention of Percy Sledge’. He had a weird run in with manc-mag (most of Gene’s run-ins were weird). He kept calling manc-mag a coward for not calling him on the phone. MM just laughed it off but made reference to Gene’s book being about Percy Sledge which wound Gene up (it was about Percy Main).
  17. I think Howay was right in that for a player like Bruno, and where we are at the minute as a club, he needs to have an option to move on. Effectively trapping him here could be counterproductive. I don’t think he’d have signed a contract where his release clause was (for example) £200m anyway. He might understandably want to move to a Bayern Munich or Real Madrid if that’s an option in a year or two. We’d still get a massive return on our investment and would massively reinvest off the back of that too
  18. Yeah, living past the age of 24 is where I started to go wrong
  19. Rob (who I’ll admit I never got on with) mentioned once about being at university when the moon landings took place. So while he’s no spring chicken now he wasn’t anywhere near as old as he used to make out back then. I think he thought it gave him an air of wisdom instead of it being another example of his being a weapons-grade gobshite. Obviously I may edit this if he’s dead
  20. I think it was a civil war the British would’ve withdrawn from, leaving the belligerents to it, but the Holocaust (understandably) changed everything.
  21. I think being a smaller community etc there’s a greater risk perhaps here in the UK to Jews. But I don’t want to take sides or anything and you’re right. You just need to look at post 9/11 where anyone who looked vaguely Arabic, Middle Eastern or South Asian were at a greater risk
