Pleased for him. It was painful seeing his loss of confidence here

Mag behaviour

Awful but not unexpected news. I don’t even want to think about how desperate the situation must be there and in the other countries affected by this.

Is BT Sport the only broadcaster that shows boxing then?

The irony of that last sentence

That’s what I thought. I wonder if it’s something to do with the accounts. They effectively signed him permanently in January but it’ll be in the next financial year or something like that? Because there was no way he wasn’t going to trigger that clause.

Despite not being at all arsed what happens (which is definitely true because I’ve told myself that) my body seems to be telling me something different. Varying from a mild case of butterflies in the stomach to absolutely bricking it about the next two games - especially the league cup final - and everything in between.

And lose

How fucking difficult would it be to assign the amount of points someone had when transferring their other details? I bet they didn’t lose the addresses or emails to ask for renewals

I think him and Stokes are perfect for each other. I was thinking the same re:Jimmy too. Looks like he could well overhaul Warne. Not only that but at a very similar average too (and Jimmy’s is improving all the time)

I don’t know and it would be unusual in the modern day. You used to get loads of funny ones in the days of uncovered pitches / sticky wickets though. This would’ve related to their being nine wickets down (and no recognised batsman at the crease) plus wanting to exploit playing under the floodlights in a day-nighter. This usually causes the ball to swing more. Also you have the psychological element of surprising those then having to open the batting and making an attacking decision rather than waiting to be bowled out. For all the logic behind it not many teams would’ve done it. I seem to remember one of the great Aussie sides of the recent past doing similar. Not necessarily on day one though (declaring to exploit the bowling conditions)

More no block than low block (you can have that one for the podcast, fish)
