  1. let's see how pele would get on if he was up all night sniffing coke and shagging prossies
  2. yeah, fletcher knew. it was a bit like when keegan lost the plot in that sky interview. that was the moment england knew the aussies were cracking under the pressure. they turned up expecting to be able to steamroller us as per, as you could see by Punter's outrageous decision to bowl first at edgbaston - i was there for the last day of that test, (well, half day) still, bloody marvellous! it was such an enthralling series. that pace attack with flintoff, harmeson, hoggard and jones had a little bit of everything. all ashley giles had to do was tie up an end from time to time. the aussie batters had no clue how to deal with the reverse swing jones and flintoff were able to find with the older ball. clarke, martyn and gilchrist were all made to look stupid on more than one occasion. i do wonder if we'd have managed it without mcgrath's injury mind. they were still an incredible side, even if a few of them were over the hill. and they got their revenge next time we toured down under
  3. is it their last home game of the season? I’d love to see their lap or honour to an empty old Trafford if we put 3 or 4 past them
  4. a dodgy ref/VAR is all that can save them
  5. that felt like the moment the urn was regained in 05 - Punter losing the plot at a sub fielder
  6. We took the black cats bar. Took the bastard good and proper
  7. we're going to beat man u at old trafford - mark my words. they'll have one eye on the cup final. we're getting players back from injury and have something to play for. plus we're mint and they're shit
  8. who are we dropping points to? i think we'll beat brighton at home and man u are there for the taking surely?
  9. chelsea are two points behind us so two wins and a draw will almost certainly be enough for us because of our superior GD
  10. i never saw pele play live, so i can't really compare them. i vividly remember watching maradona in 86 - even then, as a kid, it seemed like he was playing a different game to everyone else. would that argie team won it without him in 86? i doubt it. they really weren't that good in italia 90 and somehow he dragged them to the final. i'm convinced england would have won it had they got past ze germans.
  11. i mean, howay. look at what he did - the bloke singlehandedly won a world cup for Argies, and took them close to a second, won Seria A twice for Napoli - all while playing on pudding pitches, with defenders kicking the shit out of him and while charged up off his tits. could handle himself too
  12. I remember them both being absolute donkeys. One of a series of under par budget strikers signed in the later stage of the Ashley era - along with de Jong, Doumbia, Slimani and probably a few others I forget - until Wilson bucked the trend. I’m staggered that he’s ended up having a good career based on what he did for us. just checked his stats and he managed 6 goals for us from 46 appearances over two seasons. I’m surprised it was that many. The one goal he did score that stays with me was a shocking mis-kick. Against Liverpool I want to say?
  13. Maybe good for England too if it fucks his chances of going to the euros
  14. Must have been a quite cathartic “fuck you” to the abuser and the stalker - to make an autobiographical Edinburgh fringe show so successful that Netflix picked it up
  15. I had no idea it was all based on the actor/writer’s real life experience until half way through watching it. I have no idea how they got it past the legal department to make it as the stalker and abuser would surely be identifiable.
  16. Yeah, maybe. But man city aren’t about to start losing, surely
  17. he was absolutely rank for us. As bad as rivière
  18. really hope the palace who played us turn up and they’re not on the beach
  19. 10 goals and 10 assists for AG10 - elite numbers. what did we pay - £40m? He must be worth double that now
