nice gesture by the club. shame it looks nowt like him. still, could be worse
-
shola's been mint this season. hasn't let us down at all. he's a solid player coming off the bench,
-
yakubu played last night didn't he?
-
fuck me, blackburn's support are a sorry lot. you'd think they'd put the crap against the board and one manager to one side until at least after the game. back your team that have 30 mins to beat the drop instead of endless kean out chanting for fuck's sake. it's embarrassing.
-
nice little drop of bushmills to take the edge off the thought of going back to work after a long weekend
-
beastie's at their best imo
-
who the fuck is this kid?
-
i think he'll be disappointed how crap liverpool have done but probably still confident that his move will be vindicated eventually. i hope we'll keep this group of players together and kick on next season but if i were betting man, i'd still fancy liverpool to do better than us over the course of enrique's contract there simply because they still have that ability to attract top players and they've got the habit of winning trophies. that said, they do have a manager that seems to have lost the plot and fans that are blind to his faults so hopefully this season won't be a blip for us or them.

So who actually thinks we will finish 4th?

Why not? You do a good job of living up to yours -

I'm afraid the dream is over. I was starting to believe again after the chelsea game but I can't see us getting more points than the other two. The fact that we're even in with a chance though with a game to go is remarkable -
goes to how that it's a two way thing. it's difficult to support a bunch of heartless cowards. they won't always be backed to the hilt at home when they play like recent sides managed by allardyce and souness. but the lads this season have always played with commitment and spirit and have earned the support they're getting.
-
aye, moving yaya toure further forward changed the game. good move by mancini, it was pretty tight until then. and then we had to chase the game, leaving gaps for your lot to exploit. your lot deserve the title this season. you've been better than man u side, which tbh has been quite ordinary by their standards.
-
i'm so proud of the lads. to think we're still in with a chance of third going into the last game of the season is outstanding. and even if we finish 5th, it's still been an unbelievable season. they didn't show the lap of honour on sky - how did it go done? did everyone stay till the end and give them the deserved ovation?
-
Can't decide who I want to lose most.
-
Unbelievable! It's going to go to the final game of the season
-
Cup final day had been completely devalued. There shouldn't be premier league games on today, nor should kick off be at 5pm

I'm not superstitious by nature but I'll avoid the obvious ones like walking under ladders. I was taught in Germany that if you don't look someone in the eyes when you clink glasses and say cheers then it's seven years bad sex so always remember to do that just in case.

Very sad. Flute loop, shake your rump, root down - they made some classics. RIP

I said santon in my previous post - wake up chunk!
-
That's not to say santOns a weak player btw, just that jonas is a more established senior player and as such less likely to be sold, or upgraded as you put it.
-
Well Santon for starters. Like I said in earlier post, santon, Williamson, Simpson, Guthrie, obertan to name just a few players with over 20 first team starts are less established than jonas. Jonas is up there with cisse, ba, colo, tiote, krul et al. He's in the group of players the majority of us don't want to leave. He's a key senior player, whether you like it or not.
-
CT, you said it was clear that Jonas is one of three weak links that needs upgrading. Everyones entitled to an opinion but that is plainly bollocks. Jonas has been one of our top performers this season and had been made vice captain on merit. The only way he's going anywhere is if a silly bid comes in. Even then I dont see him wanting to leave. Like colo he stuck by us during relegation, he clearly lives the area and playing his all for the team. Top player, not going anywhere. Deal with the matter.

Newcastle United season 2012-2013
Dr Gloom replied to south_cheshire_toon's topic in Newcastle Forum
We've no chance of challenging for the title but I agree about the importance of the summer transfer window. If we can keep this side together theres no reason why we can't challenge the top 6 again. If half the team is sold off again there's every chance we could return to mid table mediocrity. The gamble worked last summer. That strategy won't work every window. I'm hoping to see a repeat of the January window - quality additions with no key players sold. -
I gave you a few first team regulars from this season that he's ahead of. Naturally, there aren't many in the current starting 11 that need replacing given its the best performing side for a decade
-
CT, Jonas is not a player that needs replacing. The manager rates him too, his performances the past couple of seasons have rightly resulted in him being made our vice captain. I'd say his position at the club is more secure than the first team regulars such as Simpson, Williamson, Santon, R Taylor, S Taylor, Gosling, Guthrie, Obertan to name just a few. I'd say he's part of our senior group of players. He is rightly viewed by the manager - and the supporters - in the same light as the likes of Cabaye, Tiote, Colo, Cisse et al
