Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

someone just needed to act as a pacemaker by running ahead of him with a bottle of pinot grigio and a rotisserie chicken and he'd smash his PB -
we need to be patient with this kid. he's 23, playing in a new league and a big price tag means big pressure on his shoulders. that comment on social media that wykiki posted is ridiculous. get in the fucking bin with that shite. eddie will introduce him slowly. it's why we paid over the odds for wissa - he'll be first choice number 9 in the short term. we bet a lot of money on potential - and sometimes it doesn't pay off - but our hit rate in the market since eddie came in is almost flawless and he's the best in the business at improving players. the one question i have is whether this kid can play 9 or if the plan is to use him as a 10 behind wissa and tweak the formation to 4-2-3-1. i don't expect that to happen in the short term either but it's a good option to have if we need to switch thing up during a game.

Dam Burn is a legend. He did fuck all wrong
-
been in every squad, hasn’t he? He’s going if he stays fit. Tuchel has probably also clocked what a class lad he’d be to have around the squad, on top of being one of the best English defenders in recent seasons
-
the worst how do theyget away with one three games into the season, the week after the transfer window closes? we finally sign some fuckers and they all fuck off

exactly what I was thinking
-
he’s right. They signed three exciting forwards but our transfers, while not all A listers, have addressed our squad imbalances better. Their midfield still looks devoid of legs. I fancy us to beat them home and away if our defence is on it.

I think Spurs could challenge for top four. They’ve made some smart signings and have massively upgraded their manager. Frank reminds me a lot of Howe. Seems a sound bloke, talks well and his players are well drilled and bust a gut for him. He massively overachieved with Brentford and looks much better then the fraud big Ange, who was wedded to that suicidal high line.

I think it’s the same lineup/formation as last season. Midfield three picks itself. Woltemade starts on the bench, Wissa first choice CF until the German gets up to speed. Botman and Thiaw to have to wait for their chance to get into the side. Gordon and Elamga first choice on the flanks. Tino and Hall first choice full backs

i think we all assumed he would go next summer to a club such as real madrid, barcelona, man city or liverpool. he was growing faster than the club. felt inevitable to me.
-
he could have avoided all the drama if he came out with something like this at the start of the summer. it's been a great three years but it's time for a new challenge so i've handed in a transfer request. thanks for the memories, or something. i don't think anyone would begrudge him for it. it played out as it did because liverpool wanted to save £20m

Hope is one of the better reporters covering nufc tbh. Writes for a rag but gets more right then most
-
just entered the barca ballot. not optimistic based on last season's returns. however, i did get one via a mate in the platinum club for arsenal at sjp at the end of the month 🙌
-
you can slap on whatever size clause you want and the player will probably agree if they're desperate to come to the club. we signed bruno for £35m and his was £100m

the isak saga and the lack of a DoF and CEO meant that most of the business was done at the end of the window. we started the first three games without a proper CF and arguably dropped seven points as a result. that's really annoying. hopefully it doesn't cost us at the end of the season. however, the end result is a much stronger squad with a younger average age which should be far better equipped for a champions league campaign. howe and his nephew have done an unbelievable job in almost impossible circumstances.

says it all that there has been zero thanks or messages of support - let alone an aplogy - from isak to the fans, the club or his teammates
