  1. Have you done something stupid like given up chocolate? One of those lentern things that us Catholics are supposed to do she's doing.... erm yer us Catholics. Ah that's right, I remember now. She ate chocolate cake at work days after vowing she was off it though, so she's away to hell anyway so she may as well just trough some dairy milk. And yes Cath, "she" is the cat's mother. That was a birthday cake brought into work for me by my mates so I could hardly refuse to eat any of it And yes, I'm going to hell, but I'm bloody sure it's not going to be for eating chocolate cake during Lent
  2. Battled to save a stab victim on Monday night and succeeded. Dead boring job, mine
  3. 1. I've just watched Rocky Balboa and Stallone looks like his face was put on wrong. 2. I desperately need a haircut. Will book one for later this week. 3. 4. Usually due to emotional exhaustion though I think. We could insist that Tom sits through The Champ, Bambi, Love Story and Brief Encounter one after the other and see if it works though
  5. It's a bit of a myth but it does contain melatonin and an amino acid which is supposed to release a sleepy-type chemical in the brain. Not conclusive though. I'm not the best one to ask like as I'm getting about 4 hours each day at the moment inbetween the 4 nights that I work and then could happily sleep about 12 hours of my days off. I've completely fucked up my routine somehow.

    Ticket prices

You're right - they won't, but it's about time they did. I very occasionally think long and hard about my season ticket and the fact that there's no way on this earth that I can afford it, and it becomes a credit card purchase every season. I have a word with myself, rationally decide it's ridiculous money to be shelling out, and then stop thinking about it cos I can't bear to give it up. Basically it works out about £30 a game. Now if I was spending £30 on a concert ticket, or whatever, then I certainly wouldn't be doing it every 2 weeks (on average) for 10 months of the year. They've got me sucked in and I can't get out
  9. My surprise is now ruined. Medical Law and Ethics and The South America Handbook. If you want to borrow either then give me a shout I'll take The South America Handbook as I'm planning on a trip there next year. I'm still undecided between this year and next. If it's this year I shall no doubt bore you to death with the tales of my amazing adventures

I don't make them to be honest because I can't bear them. The thought of a plate of mince and dumplings makes me heave mine always sink must be too heavy handed, wish I could make them like my Nana used to Sieve your flour to get plenty air into it and use half as much suet as you do flour.

  17. Off the top of my head... 4oz (150g) butter, 4oz sugar, 2 eggs, 2 ripe bananas, 8oz (300g) self-raising flour. Mix the butter and sugar together, add the two eggs and mix, mash the bananas and add, add the flour and mix well. Pour into a loaf tin and cook on 180 degrees for about 45 minutes. EDIT! I don't actually weight the stuff out any more tbh. Just use a heaped dessert spoon as 1oz.

  19. Good Lord, wonder what kind of advice she can give us I can guarantee it'll involve waaaaaay too much cleaning for my liking.. Although I did bake a cake the other day any particular reason you came across all wifely and made a cake ??? I had a bit of a mad spell. I'd been up for a day and a half after my last nightshift last week, saw two bananas in the fruit bowl and had an overwhelming urge to make a banana cake. So I did
