  1. At least Manquillo could, theoretically, improve. He's not the first player to be shit at Sunderland.
  2. Having his medical today. Story broken by Lascelles in an interview on Sky
  3. He's not sure about him but is sure enough to fire out 4 long paragraphs about it.
  4. Rafa is taking a shit defender and turning him good every season. It was Clark last year, its this lad's go now
  5. eh? Tiote could turn around in a circle 3 times in the time it took Coloccini to find his arse with both hands.
  6. Except he didn't have the engine or the mobility to have anywhere near an effect in that role.
  7. Any potential of Ojo on loan gives us Aarons, Atsu, Murphy, Ritchie and Oyo out wide with Haidara and Yedlin who can probably do a job there if needed. At least we've finally got some pace down the flanks.
  8. From that three minute video above, it's clear to me that he's actually twice the player of him already and we can put our name on the Premier League trophy now.
  9. Good stuff. With Lazaar and Riviere not in the Ireland training squad, I'd imagine they'll be out the door sooner rather than later too. I can only imagine (hope) that our business will pick up a bit from here. Unproven in the PL or otherwise, he's definitely better than Gouffran. And I've seen him play about 10 minutes.
  10. Will just make it all the more infuriating when our lads go crashing out of the World Cup in the group stages next summer.
  11. I think the kid taking the free kick hit it off Cattermole and into the net If Ihad the chance to belt a ball off Cattermole from 5 yards, I'd do that as well.
  12. Also, I was thinking; their two permanent signings aren't really ones that are going to develop into useful ones for a potential Premier League campaign, are they? Obviously we signed Murphy and Hanley but the likes of Hayden and Yedlin (on top of Gayle and Ritchie, who are probably Premier League quality anyway) were young players who you could give a good season of football too and improve them for next year. This window really does look like they're just trying to stay afloat with proven Championship experience.
  13. I have 3 daughters and 1 son. The daughters are Ruby, Emerald and Pearl. Then the son came along so I called him Onyx. Not because of the stone, because he was Onyx-pected
  14. Went to that last night, was a decent little run out against a well organised, albeit shite, Hearts team. Can see what they're going for with De Jong and Gayle, lots of through balls to try and beat the offside trap. Everything went through Shelvey as usual so it'll be tough if he misses any games. Gamez looked accomplished when he came on, to the point where you wonder how we'd look if he was fit all last season. Anyway, good run out and always nice to see Aaron Hughes The penalty miss aside, their number 11 looked a handy little player Edinburgh pint prices: excessive
  15. And when Mayweather sparks him out, Vince McMahon will be there with an open chequebook, I have no doubt.
  16. That pisshead going radge again, is he? Ken, when you're hoying up tomorrow morning, can you confirm if the toilet flushes the other way for me?
  17. Aye, I'm sure we can find some other bloke to run up and down the wing as a game of football happens for next to nowt
  18. There was a kid on the bus the other day who was just making one, long wordless sound for about 15 minutes and the mother was completely helpless to stop it, despite it's best efforts. That was only 20 minutes of a 24 hour day, of a 7 day week, of a 52 week year and I have no idea how anyone hacks it. And then they become teenagers, fuck me.
  19. If we signed players at the same rate as now until August 31st, we'd have signed 12 players. We don't need 12 players
  20. And with regards to Mitrovic, he's probably going to stay. One big reason is that we're never going to get anywhere near what we paid for him and two, I genuinely think he's got the right mindset to want to improve, despite being a knacker on the pitch (though that's definitely not as bad as people say) and I could see Rafa trying to mould him into a good striker. He's young, definitely nowhere near as good as you'd hope but he has scored important goals and, in the right frame of mind, he's an impact sub that can put the shits up defences. See, Tottenham away and Sunderland at home. Having said all that, he lacks the strikers instinct of Gayle and for a supposed target man, I watched game after game last season where he didn't win a single header. He's got such a long way to go but I think he's worth persevering with for another year
  21. Gayle definitely deserves a shot up front next season and, between him and the rest of our strikers, he's got the most about him to get goals. He's a very good finisher and that doesn't change no matter what league he's in so if we're creating chances, he'll be there to take them. He's quick to react, is always bothering centre halves and can be a right little wind-up merchant. Obviously, we're going to get less chances and he's going to have to be a bit more clinical but I wouldn't be rushing out to spend a fortune on a striker yet. I'd say we need a target man as a different option but Gayle should be first choice for me, especially at home.
