Look at that jerk! He dropped his notes!

Judging from some I watch, a mature is anything over 30. Some of those lasses still have their own teeth.

Life's Too Short was fucking dreadful but this is clearly a different tone and approach all together. Will report back as I'm sure you're all desparate to hear my opinion.

We were outplayed at Spurs (finished in the first 5 minutes tbh) and with the Wolves game, we had one eye on the Mackems so we were shite. Hatem would have made very little difference in those two. He had runs in the squad and didn't buy into the philosophy so he was dropped until he did; now he does, he's flying. Playing him all season would have sent him the wrong impression about his application (which clearly wasn't there in training). Pardew's played a blinder at getting supreme performances out of a brilliant talent. Basically, I agree

We could do with a better Number 2 than Elliott, mind. -
Well as I've said I think he's better in the midfield 3 than Jonas. He helped us dominate Liverpool. I'm not saying he's a world beater but he was excellent deputising for Tiote. To think one of these youngsters is suddenly going to step up seems quite premature. Hopefully they will fulfill their potential but as Stevies friend says, they are possibly a few years off from that point. Having him and Tiote anchor the back allowing Cabaye to sit in behind the front three is the dream scenario for me in the current set up. 3 or 4 million is peanuts for a player who is currently performing well and will probably get even better under Pardews stewardship not to mention what he'll pick up playing regularly with Tiote and Cabaye. Guthrie is slow, can't tackle and doesn't have much of an engine. Basically, he's got nothing he needs to be in the Tiote role with him. Cabaye was the one playing more defensively when Tiote was away anyway.

On the charm offensive for his MP campaign

Agreed. Flog him for £3-4 million, find a replacement with that cash or give Abeid/Vuckic/Gosling more game time. Me mate watches the Reserves and 18s all the time, he reckons Abeid and Campbell will become Premiership stars within 3/4 years. Heard that about Abeid loads of times. They might just flog Guthrie and give him more game time.

That's an incredibly specific choice.

We've had some shite players down the years, but we've never had anyone with less ability, movement and pace than Ian Rush. Or worse facial hair.
-
Send him a PM, then.

right you are, kidda. A competent manager doesn't sell Les Ferdinand and replace him with John Dahl Tommasson if he needs a goal threat. Shearer got injured then he signed Rush and Barnes btw and THEN in January, signed Andreas Andersson. He had plenty of time to look for a good striker and failed at that. The man was confident in those 4 to score goals and that's before you get into how he changed the tactics. If you're trying to use revisionist history to defend Dalglish, there's something seriously off in how you approach football. Gullit and Roeder are far better options for that sort of carry-on.
-
Eh? He ripped the arse out of a team that finished 2nd and finished 13th. Are you on glue? He signed Ian pissing Rush ffs.

Louise Taylor in the Guardian. the one who also nicknamed cabaye 'dreamboat' and can't stop eulogising over Santon. She didn't come up with Dreamboat, she just steals the crack off Twitter.- 10610 replies

Nothing to do with Vuckic being either on loan or injured? And the number of central midfield players he has to balance game time for.
