Perhaps you shouldn't get involved if you can't get it right. Even when you have google to help you out. Mick Jones was the centre forward. Wasn't sniffer Alan Smith's nickname at Leeds? Or am I wide of the mark? Smudger iirc. Or was that the Arsenal one? Think you're right, I've probably got the wrong Alan Smith

  3. This reduces my estimate of Bertolli's age to 8 years old.
  4. I've obviously strayed into some kind of developers forum.....
  5. Greetings. You're not related to Bertolli are you?
  6. Sunderland is in the north of the country, Titus. Did you turn the wrong way out of Wigan? na i was born in durham but live in london where I be chillin n gettin jiggy wiv me bitches yeaaaaahhh dog
  7. Is it the school holidays in the UK by any chance?
  8. The George Best of snooker perhaps? When you consider the players that were around originally - Thorburn, Reardon, Davis, that welsh bloke with the poofy hair - they were all pretty boring with their methodical grinding safety play and no risks approach. Higgins played like he was pissing around in a snooker hall on a friday night - unpredictable, exciting, extravagant use of spin - he played like he came from a different planet. When he was on his game he was unstoppable and he deserves all the accolades he's got. The shame was he was such an unhappy person, iirc he treated his friends and family very badly and pissed away all his earnings. I think was ill and alone for a long time before the end came. I don't think the game looked after him when he was on the way down either, but then he made a lot of enemies along the way. Surprised he made it to 61. RIP.
  9. Sounds about right. Presumably an illegible offer scrawled on the back of a Pizza Hut serviette wasn't enough for them
  10. Pretty much sums up how I feel. Plus he's injury prone, so he's incapable of building consistency.
  11. 'Arry usually likes to have a really big squad, mainly because he keeps buying expensive players but can't/won't sell unwanted ones. Haven't looked at their squad lately but wouldn't surprise me that, if they get knocked out of the CL, they struggle to fund wages and transfer fees.
  12. Can't understand why he's still around, 28 years old and he doesn't cut it. Maybe he sucks a mean cock.....
  13. I'm looking forward to another big year for Shola. I was hoping it would be with a championship team however......
  14. Telegraph: Ameobi's goal-scoring exploits in a Newcastle shirt may have been erratic but his club's return to the top flight following a year in the Championship holds no fear for the former England Under-21 international. "I know I can score goals in the Premier League," Ameobi said. "There's not really an established pecking order at the moment, which maybe wasn't always the case in the past when someone like Alan (Shearer) was around. "I was chosen to start last season and I scored a hat-trick in my first home game, but Andy (Carroll) got into the side and finished as top scorer. Things like that happen. "Nobody knows what's going to happen this season; you just have to make sure you give your all and make sure you're in the best possible shape to show the manager that you're ready for the task ahead." The 28-year-old Nigeria-born Ameobi, who has scored 42 in 208 appearances for Newcastle over the last decade which has been blighted by injury, is relishing the start of the new season which kicks off for his side at Manchester United on Monday, August 16. "It's going to be a big year for me personally, but then every year is a big year," Ameobi added. "It's been one injury after another for me in the last couple of seasons, but I can't do anything about that. "It's not as though there's a weakness there that's affecting me – it's been lots of different injuries that I haven't been able to do anything about. "I approach every season exactly the same. I want to put myself in the best shape to go out there and do my best as soon as the season begins." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...ier-League.html
  15. Chez should be doing this. Before reconsidering the Blues, the former Lyons man must first concentrate on his future with the club. Claimed to be leaving for Newcastle or Werder Bremen, the Clamart native said "do not believe what is said or written in the papers about the transfer window". That doesn't interest me. Those that make lines are like weather vanes, they sing your praises then pull you down 3 days later."
  16. Kevin, are you serious? I can't believe you'd click the link on a dodgy email on purpose! You should run every virus check and malware routine you can lay your hands on.....and stay off the internet for a few weeks while you do it......
  17. In Porno by Irvine Welsh, the main characters raid a load of bank accounts in Glasgow by getting an insider at the bank and "guessing" that loads of people would have 1690 for their PIN which works. Thought it was canny satire. Thanks, that saves me reading it now
  18. You will qualify if you can show that: * you are a Commonwealth citizen * you are aged 17 or over * you have a grandparent who was born in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man (see note below) * you have a grandparent who was born in what is now the Republic of Ireland before 31 March 1922 (see note below) * you are able to work and intend to do so in the UK, and * you can support yourself and any dependants without needing any help from public funds. As it happens I had, but what a bollocks law. They spent 30 years bombing us, what have they got to do with us and our immigration laws, disgraceful. It's simple isn't it? Up to 1922 all of Ireland was legally part of Great Britain. Therefore technically you'd have a British grandparent under British law, which generally entitles you to British citizenship.
  19. Chortle. Your mate's seen him at the airport too, and your mate's uncle's nan's cousin had him in his taxi and he said he was going for a medical.
  20. Regardless of whether he's still got it, imo he should shut his trap until he's actually achieved something in black and white.
  21. I agree with other posters though that he just can't seem to stay focussed. Is it pressure, or the way his brain works, can it be coached or cajoled out of him? The thing is, he has everything he needs to be an absolutely top class defender apart from the ability to concentrate for 90 minutes on a regular basis. You can guarantee that at a vital moment he'll be thinking about his tea or his latest shag, and he'll lose an attacker or do one of his trade mark air shots. Which in the prem usually leads to a goal. Hopefully this will be a disastrous signing.
  22. Ridiculous this isn't it. Striker + free transfer = NUFC interested. Despite there blatantly not being an ounce of truth in it. The Gerry Hooper rumour's more believable.
