  1. I wonder if he’ll ever fucking learn that rolling around after you lose the ball in a fair challenge will rarely ever lead to a free kick. Especially if you’re a known diver
  2. Not that good, it’s his fault we have to play an extra half hour
  3. "I'll tell yi fucking what lads, I've got every single one of your birds on facey B, and all your Vermont blart in'arl. Get it fucking sorted in the second half or ahm ganna get mesel a milk float and rifle the lot of them like that gadgy on father ted. Fuckin watch is."
  4. Aye the body language is completely different these days. Trippier seems to be constantly having a pop at the players too lately.
  5. Was just about to say this. I've heard from a person who knows a person that if they don't win this then they may start to think Howe may need to up his game a bit as they may well want him out.
  6. The biggest shock was that the venkys are still involved with them
  7. You probably just tipped over into the door without Renton's help then tbf
  8. Liverpool for Irish and Welsh fans are the 'closest' premier league club to them for the most part so they'll make a sort of paper thin argument that they are their 'local' team. They quite often have an actual local team too, which will be some lower league team on their doorstep - I don't mind this as much. It's cunts that support a 'big' club because they are big
  9. The worst of the fucking worst for me is a person born in the north east, being a football fan, and NOT supporting a team in the North East. I can just about forgive someone from Gateshead with mackem family picking the mackems, as it's bred into them. But someone from Durham not picking a north east based team is fucking cringey. I went to school with a lad from Fenham who supported Man Utd - never met someone who deserved a good bullying more - though he never got it, so was just an obnoxious prick. He didn't have any family connection to Man Utd, he liked Cantona and they beat us to the league once. He was probably also a Blackburn fan for a year too.
  10. I will offer at least a handful of scousers I've met have been decent lads. They were pretty much all older lads, and had spent at least half of their life in the North East following uni spells. I think they'd been softened from their miserable scouserness over time - they were no doubt absolute cunts prior to moving to the region
  11. I fucking hope not as we'd probably fucking lose and the build up to the final would be absolutely unbearable.
  12. It's a pretty impressive trajectory to reach your mouth tbf.
  13. Both Tavernier's tbf - we let (arguably) the better one go to boro's academy.
  14. There were "lazy bastards" back in the day who were most likely suffering some kind of mental health crisis that a) wasn't diagnosed and b) was taboo to talk about. They were just labelled lazy bastard, sick notes or arseholes. Just because it wasn't identified as a mental health problem doesn't mean it wasn't occurring. I don't buy this narrative that the youngins have zero resilience. Look at literally everything that is happening in the world around you. 30 years ago most families could survive on one income, families with two were pretty often 'well off'. Nowadays these kids are having to graft 50 hour weeks, so is their significant other just to be able to afford to fucking rent a 1 bed flat and put some food on the table. Life is much worse for these kids, purely because they have to graft infinitely harder to keep their heads above water. It stands to reason that this may well cause them a bit of stress. Also from experience lazy bastards very rarely feel stress, and therefore have no fucking need to waste sick days. Also long term sickness records were pretty much consistent for 20 years - they've only really spiked since 2020 which is probably partly/largely due to covid. So I guess this pandemic of soft shite lazy bastards has been on going for a number of generations now.
  15. Therein lies the problem. The kid was never fit, and usually after a Man City performance he'd almost inevitably break down and miss a few games - then you'd get an awful sub appearance, a decent sub appearance, a rubbish start, a decent start and a "Man City" start before the cycle started over. If he could stay fit for a season I'd probably agree that, FFP allowing, Howe would have kept him as a wildcard bench option, but he could never stay fit and that made him outrageously inconsistent performance wise so it made infinitely more sense to cash in, FFP or not. Minteh could be that wildcard option, and has his entire career to be moulded into something more suitable to Howe's system. But I am not convinced. 9 times out of 10 those players that are equal parts exceptional and frustrating remain so for their entire careers.
  16. I don't think a single person has been defending Chelsea, or even truly attacked Liverpool. Pretty much all of the comments are on the absolute tsunami of splooge coming out of the media about the fact that Klopp won the cup with kids compared to Chelsea's billion quid squad.
  17. Wasn't Kuol before Ashworth? Same with Ashby.
  18. I don't think he would have. I think he was diplomatic and said the right things professionally, but ASM never fit the mould Howe wanted in a winger. Maxi was never going to be happy warming the bench, but he was also never going to become the all rounder winger the manager wanted. For one thing he was too fragile, he couldn't manage more than three starts before breaking down with another injury. Minteh could well be that player but a young kid with ambition probably won't tolerate that for too long either.
  19. I disagree. I think in Minteh we may have another Maxi type player that Howe will never see as more than an impact sub. I think the fact that he's a teenager still should help him if he's a grafter and listens then there is time for him to be moulded into something Howe wants but I'm yet to be convinced. I'd love to be wrong though.
  20. It'll be interesting to see if Everton finish safe by less than 4 points, and whether Luton etc launch a complaint - The amount of teams Everton have fucked over with all of this is only getting larger.
  21. They are that incompetent they most likely never actually planned for anyone breaching it. They created a rod for their back with the 10 points which is probably why they've walked back on it with the Man City case looming. If Everton ended up with another 6 then they can't really complain now though, and it would be fucking hilarious if they were five points clear of the drop and they decide to whack it on this season
