  1. Can't you fuck off already you Toffee shiteater? And I say that with love.
  2. They're going to drop like a stone. We'll be just like them before too long so I wouldn't laugh.
  3. Anyone else think this was solely for sake of appearance? Did you know that until we signed this kid, we were the only club in the top four divisions not to have brought in a single player? He's already better than Ryan Taylor though, might be worth a go.
  4. I can't think of many other players in the squad I'd rather keep than Duff at this point, seems to be one of the few who actually cares about this club anymore. You could see he was gutted when we went down. He's not a PL player any more, I don't think, but we aren't a PL club any more either. If we lose him we are in big trouble.
  5. I read somewhere Nugent is going to one of the promoted teams? Big waste. He'd do more than a job for us alongside Carroll and I have no doubt he'd come if we only had a proper manager.
  6. Everton fans coming on here in disguise now as well? Pretty sad to be blunt. Of course a comedy club like ours will generate plenty of schaudenfreude, but this is a new low. What next? Wigan fans?
  7. There's absolutely no indication that he will be a good manager. What he will be is someone who cares about the club and will not whore it out to Ashley. He also actually wants the job, and let's face it, there can't be many other managers who we could say that for...besides the destitute tramps like Kinnear and O'Leary.
  8. The proxy IP business didn't work for me either, and I don't subscribe to ESPN360. I used something that was in this thread earlier and it worked great - my usual paysite never got around to showing the game despite scheduling for it.
  9. He was canny in the PL as well, ended as their top scorer. I'd have him over Jonas in a heartbeat.
  10. Pleased with a point and with Smith's performance. I hope to see more of the same from him. Although I am and have been one of Jonas's more consistent defenders, he was terrible today. Krul, of course, was unbelievable. If we tighten up our defence a bit we can be a success in this league, at least on today's evidence. But let's not forget WBA are a team who try to play football. When we're up against the cloggers we'll see if our lads fancy it.
  11. ...I'm dense. Been sitting on that page for near half an hour now. Much obliged nevertheless.
  12. Can someone link me to the address where the BBC Sport website will be showing the game, so I can try on that IP spoofer thing linked earlier this thread?
  13. 3-0 to the Baggies I still reckon. This might be one to watch from behind the sofa.
  14. He would've stayed if he, like the rest of the players/fans/the tea lady etc. hadn't been fucked about by FMA. Goodbye Beye and thanks for the memories, you were class. Now we have to move S. Taylor to RB (which he's not terrible at), but who does that leave us at CB?
  15. I'd have him back, by the way. I would've had him in a heartbeat after the KK disaster. Doubt he'd come back though.
  16. Total silence from his end. Isn't this how we said this takeover would happen, if it ever did? That it wouldn't come from someone who's been running his mouth for weeks about buying us, but someone who bid in the background? [/strawclutching]
  17. Once again goes to show what an absolute cheating scumbag 'Appy 'Arry is.
  18. Shearer, of course. Curbs is my next choice. Then Dowie.
  19. Sounds the least made up of pretty much every consortium story so far. Or maybe that's just the desperation talking.
  20. Why not both? The more the merrier. What's happening to our club?
  21. We're going to get trounced. 3-0 is a good shout. I've never been less excited for the start of a new season.
  22. We could've used him to partner Carroll. The other day I was thinking (in that pleasant daydream world where we've been sold and we actually have some money to spend) about David Nugent. He's had a miserable time at Pompey and I'm sure they'd be happy to offload him. It'd be like a Chopra situation, and considering where we are, I think we could benefit from him. All pie in the sky while Fat Mike is in charge however.
  23. I'm not taking you on over SBR. What I am saying is that if you really had come back solely to pay respects, you wouldn't still be posting. The truth is you've just used an excuse to come back on here and start spewing your pathetic tripe again. Have you noticed that Spurs have not even been mentioned while you weren't here? It's because we don't care in the least about your tinpot London club. We have plenty of our own problems in case you hadn't noticed. Nobody cares where Bassong is going. Nobody is 'hurt' that he might be going to Spurs. Even if he were going to Sunderland, I doubt it would 'hurt' us, simply because although he was our best player last season and we gave him the acclaim he rightly deserved for that, he has hardly spent enough time here to develop any sort of bond with the city or the fans. It certainly wouldn't be a Sol Campbell or Carlos Tevez moment. So no, it doesn't matter where he's going, Spurs, Villa, IFK Goteborg, nobody cares. The fact is that he's going, and that's all there is to it. Now, why don't you do one?
  24. A bigger issue than your best player leaving you to sign for us? Couldn't care less? Do me a favour If you've been reading the board, you'd know people have long been resigned to Bassong leaving whether Ashley stays or we have new ownership. So do us a favour. Totally unsurprised to see you slink back on here under the guise of mourning SBR - it was just a question of when you'd show up, not whether.
  25. Reading these comments is starting to break down my faith in humanity.
