Why is Smith always captain? I think I'd rather have Nile Ranger as captain than that monkey.

Sir Bobby Robson passes away age 76
acrossthepond replied to bobbyshinton's topic in Newcastle Forum
RIP SBR. We'll always remember. -
Keegan by a mile. We seemed to be on the up last summer, even with the rumblings of discontent and the lack of signings. Owen was talking about signing a new deal, the front 3 were working well together. With Keegan we would've been top half, no doubt, and as I've always said I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

Despite the thread title, this is indeed completely made up.

Was that video meant to be anything more than a showcase of awkward fouls that will get whistles faster than Scarlett Johansson's arse in Fenwicks window? (If I may mix Toontastic metaphors for a moment.) Flop in the making. Canny budget option on FM though, maybe wor Brucey's been playing a bit too much of that?
-
You mean he fouled a player? Oh no, get your torches and tinder! What a joke Don't get me wrong, I hate his guts, but Barton could give his year's salary to the "Cute Kitties Cancer Research Fund For Malnourished Children" and still get ran up for it in the press.
-
I was one of his biggest fans when he joined but it has rapidly become apparent that he stopped caring. Good bye and good riddance. Good money for him, but it may not matter.
-
Much as I'd like to say otherwise, this guy has been full of shit repeatedly and I don't believe a word of it.
-
S. Taylor would do me. Him or Harper. Certainly not Barton.
-
at the picture, but something else I read about in that thread was Dowie giving up on Newcastle. I didn't see that news anywhere, anyone know owt about it?

Truly brutal stuff from Mexico with Vela and Dos Santos featuring. Of course, neither team really brought their full squads (for whatever reason, even though this is their equivalent of the African Nations Cup, they don't seem to value it very highly.)

This is good practice as we'll be playing them next season. That's "planning" at work for you.

C.C.C. TEAMS - UNBIASED ASSESSMENT.......
acrossthepond replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think WBA will be champions. Boro will be in the top 6, Sheff U will not make automatic promotion and will fail again in the playoffs, Reading won't make top 6, Sheff Wed will never be near promotion again, QPR's owners are as stupid as ours is and I don't think they will ever have the stability to go along with their cash, Ipswich will not make the top 6, Forest are a good shout, and Palace might be a surprise. That's mystic ATP's evaluation of our opponents. -
Why is it that people on here think the players......
acrossthepond replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=650065 Just as applicable here as there. They don't care. I am of the belief, should things go on as they are, that we will be lucky to finish top half. -
Used to happen to us all the time. Now our club starts spreading rumours about players instead of the other way round - see Lucas Neill in January.

Some of the kits in this thread have got to be among the worst in living memory. That Everton thing is shocking. Worse than ours by several degrees of shit.
-
Ryder is an idiot with a typewriter and a degree. His articles aren't even fit to put down on the floor while painting. At least Oliver could write, even if he was full of shit almost 100% of the time, as well as a propaganda machine for FFS.

The kid's certainly interested. Mind, that scruffy bewigged fucker wants shot. With al-Fahim's new megabucks they can finally afford a sniper to take him out.
-
Not a fan of the Vidal, looks like a space station, football stadia should conform to certain standards of design imo and the USS Enterprise isn't one of them. Foster's is gorgeous.
-
They will all raise their games against us. And I doubt the players we've got now will be up for it. Barring a few, none of them looked like they cared against PL opposition. How about when it's January 22nd in the pissing cold away at Peterborough in a half-empty stadium and some thuggish Lincolnshire-born "defensive midfielder" they've absolutely never heard of is kicking the shit out of them at every possible opportunity. These wasters just aren't good enough. Maybe on paper they are, but we've been a good side "on paper" for years and it has never materialised.

The Premier League in 5 years? He'd be better off hoping for Joey Barton to become a ballerina. They must be paying him a fortune.
-
You think appointing another Director of Football would be sensible? Especially a randy old goat like him, even the tea lady would be nervous. We'd also have to pay him through the nose, although that's of course the NUFC way. You sure this ME consortium didn't take over the wrong Magpies? EDIT: Bastard, AP made the same reference.
-
He can head the ball to be fair to him. Although my enduring memory of him will not be goals at the Camp Nou, but being called offside on a free kick taken from within our own half at Derby in 2007. I do think Carroll is better.
-
What do you do once you've scored 10 in the first half hour? Kick it around for the next 60 minutes? Isn't that more humiliating? I see your point though.
