  1. How many others have won the title with two different clubs? Clough. Any more? Herbert Chapman won it with Huddersfield then Arsenal. Different era but his formation was revolutionary iirc, moving away from 2-3-5 to the 'W M' with a deep lying centre-half. I miss the 2-3-5. I remember playing that shape as a kid, it was all about goals - unfortunately usually a lot against you if you were really shite. I never realised you were that old. Cheeky bastid! I'm from Australia, you have to remember they only let us play soccer with a round ball from the mid 80s, so the 70s were like the 1920s in world football. Interesting, to get U9 and 10s at our club use to playing on a full size field and positional play we use a WM shape but it is interpreted as 3-2(DM)-2(wingers)-3 (with the CF just a little deeper that the strikers.) So: W M
  2. Explains all. I forgot Rob is a man woman man of the world

  4. Unfortunately Rob this is where you are wrong and mistaken. Campbell's record in the Bluebird was a true automobile feat and what is wrong with the structure of the land speed record. The later jet cars are just that, planes and space travel without wings. There is no true mechanical feat involved, just luck that your sphincter doesn't pop out before your wing-less plane takes off. Campbell's 429 mph (690 km/h) speed on his final Lake Eyre run in 1964, however remained the highest speed achieved by a wheel-driven car until 2001. Name me another speed record that has been unbroken for 37 years?
  5. gomez - bring it on (celebrating it's 10th birthday).
  6. Only because of what he did at Aberdeen, it's been all cheque book management since!

  11. Souness is gay, has an IQ of 160 and really is a good manager but suffers from A.D.D
  12. I thought when kinnear was here Viduka thought fuck it I'm not doing any work for that twat. Then Shearer came in and was like, injured you say? right you have to stay later anyways. So Viduka thought he might as well do some work while he was here. Told by someone at the club he wasn't wanted according to a reliable source. Also would probably stay to prove a point if offered a contract. Most likely end up at Fulham.
  13. It's a big call to put on your website if that's the case, especially considering the libel implications.
  14. Someone need to lamp that cunt Ashley! From nufc.com Pud, what's the NUSC's stance on this and if true is there action to be had?
  15. This land is my land... Bob Dylan in that case... Wilco in that case... Actually the Mermaid Avenue releases by Wilco and Billy Bragg of Woody Guthrie's material are a good listen The Mojave 3 call earlier is a good one and Neil Halstead's solo 2002 solo album also falls into the contemporary country/folk genre and is brilliant. Jon Spencer's latest project, Heavy Trash, is countryish but a bit heavier.
  16. Again though, they are more straight up punk than the pop-punk that is around today. I still reckon the Descendents were the first truly Poppy punk band As good as milo and the boys are, bands like adam & the ants or bow wow wow had that pop punk sound, although they get lumped in with the new romantics. And let's not forget the Hard Ons!

  23. In Qatar played in summer during the afternoon. Yeah real easy game Chez and one no doubt most European nations would love to play and win. We needed a point to qualify and it was secured. I wish our club had the same sense.
